The National Consumer agency has become the CCPC. Does this now mean for us Business Students 2017 have to learn about the new commission?

Page 32 of the Draft Guidelines for Leaving Certificate Business states: “This appendix of draft legislation may be updated from time to time. Schools will be notified a full two years in advance of any changes to be made.”

The Industrial Relations Act, which established the Labour Relations Commission, is included in this list. The Department of Education and Skills (DES) practice up to now has been to issue circulars when relevant and two years following the issue of the circular to schools the new legislation is examinable. The last circular was issued in 2010 and was examinable from 2012 onwards.

The Workplace Relations Act 2015 has reorganised and reformed significantly the existing employment rights structures, however, no circular has issued as yet from the DES.
