Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering really on this, and looking my for ballpark figures.

In 2006, if you bought a BMW 523i SE Saloon automatic, black leather seats. What would have been the rough cost of it new ?

I'd say circa €40-45k, if you can find a UK reg one and put the details in to Revenue's VRT calculation price it should give the original price for it here.

    You'd say wrong then!
    Se was 56k,m sport 63
Edit leather was probably a few grand extra in those Celtic tiger times.

Yes I suppose a decent 3 Series is mid to late 30's nowadays. Some depreciation, they go for crazy low money now.

Any other car you want the price of?

VRT calculator will give you the original OMSP of most cars when they were new.
It's 90% of the list price IIRC.

    A 320 diesel was 45-48k

5s were big money back then with the higher VRT. A 520d on the road back then with an auto box, leather and a few bits, inc delivery would be about €65k.

So the answer is roughly 60k

Strangely, VRT Calculator shows it as:

Open Market Selling Price (OMSP) determined by Revenue: €52205 with an autobox.

If you go to www.simi.ie they have historical data on new car published prices, back to about 2001 I think.

Drop down menu on the top left, under statistics or something like that.
