Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decline in newspaper sales hits EM News Distribution profits

    Despite INM's core business being in slow terminal decline, INM has kept its head well above water thanks to Newspread, its distribution wing. Newspread cut cots by closing a NI location, cutting staff and adding new distribution contracts such as Irish Times distribution.

    No such luck for EM News ...
    The company reported turnover of€95 million last year, as against €96.7 million a year earlier. Pretax profits declined from €1.15 million to €532,000, a figure which includes a loss on financial instruments of €489,000.

    “The commercial environment in which the company operates is expected to remain competitive in the year ahead,” the directors said. “The business is subject to external consumer trends and demands. This is evident in the continued slow decline in national newspaper and magazine volumes.”
