2011 BMW 318 SE - market value?

Hoping somebody here can help me.

I am considering buying a used BMW 318 SE (E90) 4 Dr , diesel, manual.

Car was first reg in Feb 2011, very low mileage 19,000 , with full dealer history and 6 month later warranty left. Car is immaculate. Driven by elderly man - not driven hard.

Full leather , metallic paint, and no other extras that I am aware of.

Is 18,200 too high a price? If so what is market price?

That is way too expensive for a private sale, here is one from a main dealer for slightly less and it's an auto and will come with a 2 year BMW warranty:

Donedeal doesn't have anything similar at the moment but I'd expect a private manual one to be selling for well less than what the dealer above is asking given you would probably negotiate a cash discount off the dealer also.

Thanks. I was trying to find similar on sale too. So realistically, a private sale is more likely to be 15-16k?

I'd say so, if the BMW dealer is asking 18k then you would hope to buy it for at most 17k with no trade in. That would still come with the 2 year BMW warranty. So selling a similar car privately would want to be a good bit cheaper to tempt someone away from the dealer.

That car is petrol. The car in the OP is diesel.

€18200 is maybe a touch on the high side for a private sale. I'd be thinking €17500. €15-16k is not realistic.

My bad, I somehow saw petrol when reading the 318 bit and totally ignored the diesel bit.

I was going to say that in my reply to @bazz, but was not 100% sure on where diesel is at today resale wise. The car is very very clean!

No problem - you did find the rarest of things to compare with a 2011, 318SE – even if it was Petrol!
