Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dublin player took a swing at the Mayo player on the ground.

    The ref is hilarious.

A brawl a few metres behind him and he sprints off in the wrong direction!

Handbags. Let's get on with it.

Better send off a Mayo man, just to be safe.

Should be a red for Small can't be throwing punches

Have a feeling that the officials are going to compound their dreadful performance with another ream of unfair decisions.

I think Connolly's off. He definitely moved his head there

Small and Vaughan seemed the worst culprits there

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Probably a batch of yellows on the way. Ref losing control of things.

Vaughan got a bit of a shoulder from Connolly. Vaughan tried to trip him, got up and went for Connolly

    Yet both get booked.

    Small should be off.

Lucky, lucky, lucky. Absolute idiot for swinging near the end of the scuffle.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,442 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Lucky boy John Small. That's twice he's dodged a bullet.

Dublin not any neutrals' favourites, and they're not changing much here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

If there was a decent punch thrown

Canning and Carney would be doing shots of Holy Water at half time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

    Ref bottling it.

Deegan is shocking . Gaa want a mayo win for the stories. Corruption

    Usual after a scuffle
    Yellow cards
How did the Mayo player have blood pouring out from side of his eye?
    No replays showed that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

A complete joke. Small should have had a black card early on, nothing happened. Then should have been given a red at the end and is given a yellow. At the very least he shouldn't be on the field one way or another.

Carney is like a Mayo Lord Haw Haw at this stage

Think both sides are at it to be fair.

Should have been a straight red for small, clear intent to punch O'Connor in the face... O'Connor had his arms by his sides.

I agree here. Connolly started that one and should have been yellowed.

However if the ref is going to book both there, surely both COC and Small should be booked too.

What was Small booked for? If the lino told the ref he swung a punch, surely he had to walk!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

How has John Small managed to stay on the pitch?
He's dodged a definite black card and a definite red.

That was an exciting half of football

    More of that please!

it wasn't a shoulder. Their heads clashed. And from what I can see their was intentional movement by DC. I think thats what started Vaughan off.

I would like to see it again though.

    Hard to really know

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭kilns

Now that was exciting. No one side can complain about the ref he is equally bad for both sides. A lot of niggle in this game. I can a raft of new rules coming in to cut the crap out.

For two supposedly good teams, the first match and what we've seen of this one have both been muck.

I think we can all agree on that. Bit of a fear that this could turn in to Dublin v Galway though. q

Really exciting first half. Despite the fights at the end hasnt been an overly dirty match.

He's given Dublin at least 5 points too
Still bemused as the need to change a keeper for a final replay

Parsons leaving the field pouring Blood, if you did that in the street you would face assault charges, if you do it for this Dublin team of cynical cheats you'd be lauded.

Great game so far, good quality football and lots of excitement and the two teams clearly despise each other.

No need for either black card in my opinion or any reds to be handed out for some of the scuffles

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,666 ✭✭✭Howjoe1

good half, Dubs just about edged that half.
