Ending an account

Hi there.

I'm looking to find out the procedures and that for closing down an account with you guys.  Nothing personal; I won't be living here for much longer and don't want the bills to go on after the event.

Thank you for getting in touch.

To close your Electric Ireland account, just take a meter-reading on your last day and contact us as soon as you can afterwards with this meter-reading, a forwarding address for your final bill (for usage up to the point of the meter-reading) and the contact name and telephone number of someone who would be looking after registration for supply after you move out (e.g. property company or landlord/lady).

You would also be asked to provide confirmation of the Electric Ireland account number in question, a sentence from you stating that you are the account-holder and how your name appears on the account, and your address (that you are leaving) and date of birth.
