    McIlroy agonisingly close on the last to birdie...


    I think that could be it.

    Matsuyama makeable birdie put 17...and still 18 to play

    Misses the birdie on 18 by 2 inches. Looks like tied 4th unless Matsuyama messes up from here.

    Missed enough chances to win gold and ends up out of the medals...but Matsuyama misses on 17.

    Could end up with a massive playoff yet.

    McIlroy has been frustrating...but how many chances did Matsuyama miss to get bronze or silver, unbelievable.


    So it is somehow a 7 way playoff.

    Hung in there well in the playoff, but one medal from seven players in the playoff was always a long shot. He will be very frustrated at the chances he missed in regulation play.

    Between that and Kurt Walker missing a medal by one point on one judges scorecard it really hasn't been our morning. All on McClenaghan now...please don't fall off the pommel horse Rhys.
