How long does your batteries last?

Hi, can anyone advise roughly how long a 18650 battery will last in an Istick pico ?

I know different wattages etc make a huge difference, just trying to get a ball park idea based on peoples experiences / individual setting.

What 18650 are you using and what power and ohms?
Its impossible to give an exact figure but of you have a general idea of what coil and watts you will be using then someone should be able to give you an average.

I'm on a Cleito at 45w with an LG HE4 and I get about 1.5 days of good use. Girlfriend is at 11w on an Aspire et-s 1.6ohm or 18-20w on a built Subtank to 1ohm and she's getting around 4-6 days from the same battery.

Only have one on order so can't say yet.
But you should easily get the day from one should you?

    would be 30-40W I'd say

I only ever get a few hours straight from any 18650 in a single 18650 device. Doesn't matter what it is. I'll get a day out of the Cuboid, a dual 18650 .... maybe I'm a hard vaper, I don't know? but I'm never impressed by battery life. I mostly use Sony and Samsung, VT4/5 and 25R, also have a couple of LG batts, they all last about the same.

I get a full day with a Pico and Samsung 30Q battery and that is if I push it with constant all day vaping.

On a 1.0 ohm coil at 20watts, I get about 12 to 13ml of juice on a single charge. That is a hell of a lot of juice on a 1ohm coil.

Probably OK for the Flashlight, but vaping?!

    Feck! Several days!

    A HG2 (3000mah) gets me a day with my Pico/GS Air-M setup, vaping about 7mls(ish) at 12w.

You and me both, I go through 8 batteries a day in my Evic Mini (LG's and Sony's) - I do a fair amount of chain vaping at the computer. I go through 30-40ml of juice per day in my Griffin @ around 65 watts.

Yeah I should have added too, that I vape mostly in around 45-50w and do tend to chain it a bit if I'm sat here at the PC. I also get through a lot of juice. Easily 25-30ml daily.

RX200 with 3 x 18650's gets me through 24 hours, I swap the batteries when I get in from work each evening and put the used ones on charge.

I find the vtc mini uses batteries quicker than my other single cell mods, and I don't think the screen would cause excess drain.
I would prob get 20% longer on my zero one mini with the same setup, normally a cleito .4 stock at 40-50w.
Anything above 50w needs the cuboid tbh, the HE4 seems to drain rapidly above 50w when in single use.

I've a 1.8 ohm coil in mine at 16W and the battery is over 3/4 full when I'm plugging it in every night.

That's not the best idea tbh, the ideal charge for li-ion is between 30-90%, or somewhere around that region.
Life expectancy of the battery decreases if your only using it between 80-100%. There's a lot of info on google that's worth a read if your using 18650 batteries, important for safety but also for the lifespan of your cell.

I run mine till the Pico locks, and then swap in the next battery, which I use till it locks and so on...

Is that okay or should I be doing it earlier?

In seriousness, I've seen a few negative comments about these batteries.

Hoping to run the pico at around 15-20W

Are they weak batteries, don't last long, or are they just pure dangerous?

    Ordered them with fasttech

I'd be a bit worried about using them now!

Ultrafire are not a great brand for vaping. They make torch batteries primarily.

Their max discharge current is 10A which is generally quite low, you really should be aiming for 20A. Even if you're using them at low wattages for now, its not safe to have low amp batteries in rotation in case you ever try to bump up the power in future.

The other reason to not use them is they're not flattop battries, they have a nipple on the positive end which could make them an uncertain fit in a pico and most other mods.

Batteries like these would be ideal.

I never use any batteries outside the known best - Sony, Samsung or LG. There are other decent ones, but sticking to those has ensured I've never had any battery issues over 4 years.

thanks folks, will ditch them into the torch !

what about 26650 batteries, has anyone used those in the Pico?

basically I need batteries and a charger to complete the kit, don't want to break the bank, once they work and are safe!

can you use them 18650 batteries in "everyday devices" like tv remotes etc?

    wouldn't want to waste them!

No good for remotes,I'd use them for 1.2 Ohm coils & higher,if your vaping around 8w to 15w,they should be ok,I used them for a couple of years now when I'm MTLing....

  • Registered Users Posts: 240 ✭✭Menoetius

So I'll be ditching the ultrafires I order from info received on here.
Is there any Irish or european sites I can get decent batteries / charges at a good price on that will deliver in a few days?

Guessing 26650 means bigger / longer lasting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

A 26650 is wider, the 26 stands for the diameter, 26mm. Whereas an 18650 is 18mm, both are 65mm long and I believe the 0 on end signifies it is a round battery. Only certain mods can house both, most mods take 18650.

Check thebestshop.eu, esmokeireland etc, they all have batteries, shop around for the best price. look for Sony VTC4/5, Samsung 25R, LG HE2

After the convo last night I didn't plug mine in after and just chanced it for today. Still well over half, so definitely only need to plug it in every 2nd night. Might even do 3 but it'd be pushing it. Still not sure if the Pico is like the other isticks in that it'll go from about a third full on the display to dead in a shot.

Mine doesn't - I even get a surprising amount of time with the flashing battery symbol.

    Only saw this now.

The manual of the pico says to use a battery above 25A.

25A batteries with a flat top will do nicely on all mods,it's the maker's name which can be dangerous as these are clones & they don't do whats on the tin.
Always use Samsung,Sony or LG batteries, but even some of these could be fakes, all depends on where you buy,I will not buy batteries directly from China,I tend to pay a bit extra & buy local & if I get a bad battery,it's alot easier to send back for replacement.

Just a for your information, i decided to try these guys
    https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/18650-size/samsung-inr-18650-30q-3000mah.html
Based in the Netherlands and specialise in batteries ( no knock off HG2s!). I put in an order on Tuesday evening and got them in the post this morning. I paid €34 for six Samsung 30Qs including postage. Pretty good deal, not that far off FastTech prices without all the faffing around with shipping. They are due to get the New Sony VTC6 batteries in about two weeks, 3120 mAH and 30 Amps. I will definitely order from these guys again. Anyway just putting it out there for those looking at battery options.

Those are excellent battery prices compared to what I have seen.Great not to have the customs to worry about too.I see they do battery chargers also.Is there any that would be recommended over others?I think one that charges 2 batteries at a time would be fine for me.

I use the Nightcore i2, there is a new version out that has improved charge time. they are cheap and cheerful, but get the job done - mines over three years old and still going strong. This is the new version -

Those ultrafires are pretty dodgy. I would stop using them and pick up a Samsung or Panasonic or another big name battery brand.

At 45 watts and .50 ohms I generally get 8-12 hours of vaping. According to my mod I vape on average 570 seconds per day.

I have one of the old Eleaf batteries. Get four days use out of it and I vape quite a bit.
