Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Origi made a royal mess of that

Shocking, a runner to his right no pressure and loses ball under his feet...

He had no idea Firmino was there, went for the pass afterwards when he was 4 yards offside.

Playing well, I'd love a bigger lead though.

Lucas plays the pivot as well as Can or Henderson imo. His passing is very underrated.

That rifling of the ball along the ground has always been his thing.

He's probably the best short-medium passer of the ball we've had in the squad bar Alonso in the last 20 years, not just technically but also in his choice of pass and vision.

Origi doesn't seem much use outside the box. He doesn't see passes well it seems.

Just having a bit of an off night in that regard...we've seen him do much better though, so wouldn't worry about it too much. Suspect its more to do with being a bit rusty.

Derby are really poor with the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Great positioning from Karius, Henderson can't be that sloppy in midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,024 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    Well done Karius, decisive there.

He's usually looked like a bit of a lump for us. He can look a bit sharper on the dribble at times but his touch has seldom been that crisp.

Still has the look of a baby giraffe at times. Hopefully he grows out of it.

That's how he looked the first half of last season imo. Looked far far more composed and controlled in the last few months of last season. I think he's just a guy who needs a few games to get into the swing of things.

    Stupid yellow.......

Well that could have been 3-0 or 1-1 easily. Karius bailing out Henderson well.

Matip is playing some great balls in between Derby players, Firmino is enjoying turning Keogh inside out - poor fella looks like he's just got out of a jungle having been chased by an enemy he can't see.

Henderson apologies to Karius going off

fairly dominant display by derby in the first half

There was a time when Coutinho lived for assists, now he seems so greedy.

Bobbys highlights video will be worth a watch.

    Lucas absolutely controlling midfield.

Gruijc looks a bit lost though.

Need to be more direct I think, Liverpool keeping Derby in the game if anything.......

Was putting my daughter to bed and missed the goal but thankfully they've just shown it 30 times in a row at halftime on my stream. No exaggeration. Weird.

Yeah, i think it'll take a bit of time for him to get up to the increased speed of play.

Looked like this in some the tougher preseason games too, kind of anonymous. You can see him there, moving around, but play seems to bypass him more often than not.

Can will get around 30 mins I reckon, more if it goes to ET.

Hope Klopp ****s them out of it a bit.
A lack of composure bordering on unprofressionalism up front.

Dicking about on the fringes or being greedy are well and good but win the bloody game first.
There's some nice combination in there but they need to stop pissing about and sort the final ball out.

This could very rapidly go from a stroll to another stupid game in the cups against ****e teams we've failed to win.

Mind you, extra games wouldn't do some of this lot any harm. Origi and Grujic have looked a bit **** in different ways. They need minutes.

And without commentary too. Feels like I'm at the game on me tobler. The water sprinklers have kept me occupied.

Grujic doesn't seem to know how to get involved in this match, not sure about him.

Origi was not too good when he first came to Liverpool, then looked amazing for a while, got injured and unfortunately looks like he did at the start again. Hopefully temporary.

What a pass. Firmino and Coutinho on a different level to the rest to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,954 ✭✭✭garra

Wow, the delay on that pass from Bobby to Phil was sumptuous.

Okay that's a great finish, identical to his goal at Southampton last season.

Klopps gone on and on about simple football.

Simple runs from midfield or off the shoulder of the last defender, crisp passes, strong finishes.
    Job done.
