leaf blower/vacuum

first time poster here,i want to get a leaf blower/vacuum in the next few weeks and am wondering could anyone recommend a few for me,i don't want to spend massive money on one but yet i don't want a cheap one that won't work next year. Also are the vacuums any good or could they get clogged up if leaves are very wet,thanks in advance for any advice

I received an electric one many years ago as a gift (Black and Decker 1800w) and it's a great bit of kit. I have a large garden and long driveway. I also have many mature trees. I use it every week to blow debris off the drive. It shifts leaves brilliantly and vacuums up hedge clippings too.

meant to say i would be looking at a petrol one because some of the leaves would be a bit too far away from the house and it would be too time consuming rolling out a lead each time

I bought a great Stihl one, but it was £200, so might be a bit pricey.

But I wanted to buy once, and not be buying again in a year or two.

I bought an Oleomac leaf blower/Vac. Have it about 4 years now and its been 100% reliable. Easy to start and easy on petrol.
I got mine secondhand on Ebay but this is the model.
If possible buy from a local dealer who will tune/repair it if necessary. Big Box stores like Woodies etc. don't provide this service.

I have a Stijl one as well. I bought the vacuum and blower combination. The vacuum is not great for big areas as the bag fills quickly and there are issues with wet leaves. Better off buying the blower only as it's cheaper. Blowing leaves into a corner and gathering them up with a
wheel barrow or tonne bag is quicker.

I have mine 3 years now no issues and I'm using it looking after housing estates and lots of private drive ways

I bought a Hitachi model 3-4 years ago (blower and vac attachments) and it's never given me a problem. I don't use the vac. much but the one thing I'd point out about using it is to keep it away from the ground while using it; the suction is strong enough to lift pebbles which will cause internal damage to the machine.

A person whose property I maintain bought a "Kasei" for maybe 60 euro less than my model. I was using it one day and the exhaust must have touched my shirt because the shirt caught fire. That particular machine had to be serviced after 3 hours of use, so I'd say avoid the unknown brands as they are a false economy.

thanks for all the replies,i think i might stay clear of the vacuum so if picking up pebbles might cause problems later on.I hadn't planned on spending 200 euro on one but if i want a reliable one then i will,want something reliable and long lasting.Was going to go to woodies but might call to a few dealers as well now

My Stihl also has the vacuum attachment and bag, but to be honest I don't see myself ever having to use it.

Sorry to jump onto thread but I was about to post the same question. My garden is a bit all over the place so pulling around a electric cable would be a bit of a nuisance as I would guess these come with about 5m cables?

At 8.8kg, that's the heaviest one I have come across. Most are less than 7kg.
