I'm an overseas landlord and just discovered that the company I use to manage my property in Ireland increased the rent without any communication with me. Is this something they are legally able to do?

    Thanks for any input.

What does your contract with them say?

Did they pay you the newly increased rent or still keep paying the old amount?

This is what it comes down to.

fyi, I'm in a similar but opposite situation: I'm in Ireland and own a property overseas that's managed by property managers there. I trust them not to put students or scummers into the place, and to set the rent levels. I don't expect to be kept in the loop of every decision.
