    Hi,

My son will soon be 3 and seems tall for his age. The car seat he is in now is a group 1.

    http://www.britaxemea.com/car-seats/duo-plus/

He is about 16kg now but his head is above the highest point of the seat -- I presume because of this, I need to upgrade him to the next car seat.

If so, can anyone recommend a car seat that won't break the bank and that is safe and will last a while. (I'm not asking for much am I !! ; ))

I think for rear facing, the top of the head must be below the top of the seat. For forward facing, the top of the ears must be below the top of the seat.

Tall child turning three in a few weeks here. We have the Joie Stages seat (belted seat) which I'm very happy with. It's marketed to do until age 7. It's around €200:

I had originally spent a lot of money on a Britax Dualfix, which is an excellent seat, but he had outgrown the rear facing position before age 2.

Thank you. These cars seats are some money spinner for these companies ! :)

Im thinking of getting this one:

But not sure if its decent quality or not, based on the price etc.

Similar one in Halfords for similar price and there are loads of reviews:

thanks, seems to get decent reviews alright.

I suppose im just concerned in that it seems cheap, most other seats are a lot more expensive.

As above- it's only when the eyes are above the top of the seat that it's outgrown. You might get another while yet!

Than you. I double checked. Yeah, his eyes are about 3 inches below the HIGHEST point of the seat. The back of the seat is higher than the side parts - if you know what I mean.
