Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Zerks has been dropped
    Hopefully Rooney is too

Will this allow Pogba to finally play further forward?
Will Carrick start ahead of King Elbows?
Can the current PL Champions cope without Kante?
Will the Wonder-Kid Rashford start on the left or as striker?
Will the neutrals accuse Jose of punching Claudio if he tries to shake his hand?
Will this be an 8 page thread or a 48 page thread?

    Tune in to find out!

Leicester are deadly on the counter but Liverpool showed what happens if you hit them back and take your chances.

United should win this, will they is another story.

The rumours of no Rooney are encouraging at least.

I fully expect Rooney to start.

Assuming Shaw and Martial are out, I'd like to see the following:

    DDG
    Val-Bailly-Smalling-Blind
    ----Carrick-Herrera
    --Mkhi-Pogba-Rashford--
    Ibra

But I'd be shocked and amazed if Rooney didn't start. If Mkhitaryan isn't ready, I'd like to see Young there.

You will find the stats show that Micks effort was just fine and your critisism is way over the top maybe your dislike of him is clouding your judgement :pac:

In the hotel having a pint. Not heading to the city centre tonight, early kick off is a killer. Pub up the road will do.

I wouldnt touch it myself, leicester were hammered by liverpool only two weeks ago. Draw would be the best they can hope for here.

Similar plan of attack here, though I won't rule anything out just yet! Have a good one zerks.

Leicester now have new boy Islam Slimani up and running, he'll be a threat.

If Watford can score 3 against Utd then it's not a big stretch to say Leicester's front 3 could cause them a lot of problems so yeah, 6-1 is probably good value. I don't think this Utd team have the dynamic, barnstorming performance required to silence their critics in them yet, so a lacklustre scrappy win is probably the best they can hope for.

Utd are going to thrash Leicester 5-0.

Strong rumours circulating on Twitter this morning of Rooney being dropped

First big call Jose has made if true

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

Utd aren't exactly clicking up front and Leicester still carry a big goal threat.

The Utd defence needs to shore up a bit if they want to win this.

Can see it being a score draw or 2-1 either way.

How could they know? Does Jose name his team earlier?

It seems to be stemming from Luckhurts at M.E.N.

The same guy who said Mata had to be restrained at the Charity Shield when Jose subbed him off

He's taking a guess based on logic in an attempt to look ITK. Mind, there are journalists who do seem to get the teams correct, so I'd guess there's leaks, internal memos, briefings etc.

For the neutrals jumping on that narrative maybe

    It's one game

Players need a sustained run without Rooney in the team

Miki isn't available which is disappointing, I'd have preferred him at #10

I don't mean for me and others who just want Utd to lose, I mean reading on here (the utd fans) and the media. The fact that it is so polarising an issue means that there will be one side or another having the louder shout in the discussion.

Rooney hasn't played well and dropping him is the proper decision, but there is still a huge element of scapegoating of him in this situation.

Utd should still win today with or without him at home against Leicester. 2-0 I reckon.

There are multiple issues buried in the squad for a couple of years now. It's not just Rooney.
However for the sake of progression finally a lingering issue has a chance to be addressed.
The other players in the squad will have no excuse or place to hide if after 10+ games without Rooney they still don't signs of improvement.
The flow of our attacks needs to change and with Rooney in the side doing what he was doing it was never going to happen.

What was the deal with the kids and jerseys there with the United players?

Meh it's nothing. You lot said Gerrard was holding you back and made it like without him you would love everything in sight. Truth was Gerrard was detrimental to the team just like Rooney is.

Without Rooney can the team improve? Most probably yes.

Man United wore jerseys with the kids names on the back of them, then gave them to the kids.
