The Del Boy Dynasty league

So everyone has been getting busier in the last couple of weeks which is great to see. On behalf of your commissioner Limpar and myself we'd like to extend a warm welcome to our two new players this season Doogs27 and Stev88. We see that you two have already been active which is what we want to see in this league.

I have seen the results of the doodle poll and most people voted for an immediate start or the beginning of June to start our rookie draft. So in the spirit of democracy I have updated the draft chart and will PM all members of the league so we can kick off on Friday.

In the spirit of fair play I would advise everyone to start making roster cuts and make space for their incoming rookie class. i.e. if you have 6 picks you need six spaces open. I would ask that players do not start picking up these released players until after the draft has been concluded. Once the draft has been closed we should introduce the waiver wire rules and players can only be picked up through the blind auction system.

The draft will start on Friday and we will allow a 24 hour window for picks to be made. If their is consensus we can reduce this to 12 hours but I am aware we have some US based players and the 24 hours is fair to them. Failure to make your pick in the allotted time frame is the players responsibilty and they will be allotted the next available pick. Please don't end up with egg on your face like those Vikings who failed to turn in their first round pick in time for two years running. Trades during the draft are allowed as part of the normal course of league business. Any further queries I am happy to answer on thread or through PM.

Great work as always Brinty, fair play man! Sure we can all make sure to get our picks in ASAP rather then milking the full 24 hours of not necessary.

Is it possible to lock the free agent pool? Most sites have a setting for it I think

On the free agency myself and Limpar have spoken about this offline and yes we will be shutting the free agency pool for a couple of weeks after the draft is concluded. This will allow teams to asses their needs and how much they need to spend on it. Also builds the anticipation as injuries and team formations take hold over the pre season

Ok cool. So is there a certain date we can add/drop players till? Like maybe no adding players as soon as the draft starts till a future date decided later. If I'm understanding you wrong, apologies ☺️

Limpar will lock down free agency once the draft opens
It will reopen three weeks after the draft is concluded some everyone will have the chance to reassess their needs post draft and any injuries from OTA's and pre season

Then three weeks after the draft close all players can bid for the free agents available in a blind auction. Everyone gets 100 credits to use per season. If two people are tied the person higher on waiver claims gets the player. Waiver order resets each week

Yeah Doogs, what Brinty said. Basically you have $100 to go shopping for free agents over the season! Some you'll pick up for free or cheap, some you might have blindly pay a fair bit for. Don't spunk it all too early is my advice, but still make an intelligent effort to get your guy.

For example, somebody dropped CJ Anderson last year when he was injured... I paid $20 for him, then flipped him after he had gotten fit and become an asset again. You could have also picked up Tyreek Hill for a couple of dollars after his first few good games, and now you could probably flip him for a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick!
