Roughly much does an additional radiator cost and is it a messy job?

It depends on so many things. Plumber needs to tap into the heating system so he'll need to trace back to 3/4 inch flow and return to do it right. This could be right beside the new rad or in the hall.
Then there is a big difference between concrete and wooden floors. Laminate, hardwood, tiles etc. Are the pipes Cooper, gumbarrel etc. The size of the rad, single or double.
Your question is how long is a piece of string type of question. If it were me I'd get 3 quotes from reputable plumbers. Recommended preferably. And go from there
