Thats a 50/50 game id imagine. Ballyhale are like a microcosm of Kilkenny in many ways the way they have dominated the landscape. Sars in Tipperary are similar. However, OLG would have no fear id imagine and anything could happen in a final. OLG were beaten in last years final and will have a bit of hurt as an incentive

    Lomans tyrrellspass final in Westmeath
    Lomans will be favourites

Going by yesterday's games I would fancy Crokes to beat Cuala. Cuala have some great individuals like Treacys but too weak in several key positions.

Out of interest, how did Athlone do in Senior this year?

Which provincial winners are meeting each other in the Senior Club Hurling Championship Semi's? Last year was Connaught Ulster and Munster Leinster.

Lost the semi to Tyrellspass. Ray Connellan will be a huge loss for them next year, was the deciding factor in the QF win over Mullingar

    Fair play to them.
The Conellan's were class when they started to motor against us in the Leinster final last year.

Think it's Connacht v Munster, Ulster v Leinster.

Westmeath SFC final is between Tyrellspass and St. Lomans this year. Should be tight with Lomans expected to pull through after beating Killucan impressively over the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭Bonniedog

Castleknock v Skerries (Ciaran Kilkenny with Castleknock. Not sure if Bryan Cullen still togs out for Skerries)

    and

Kilmacud (Cian O'Sullivab if fit) v Judes (McMenamon).

Should be two easy enough wins for Castleknock and Crokes.

Ray wasn't expected to figure at all for Athlone after the horrible injury he picked up for Westmeath back in July. He'll be a big loss to both club and county.

Completely forgot about his injury! I'm amazed that he's back so quickly.

Castleknock giving Skerries a bit of a pasting.

Tyrone Final Replay going ahead tonight at 7.30pm.

    Should be another close one.
Couple of weeks may have given Dermot Carlin the opportunity to start or at least play a prominent part for Killyclogher.
Coalisland missing their forward Toner who got the bad injury last day and Killyclogher missing midfielder Niall McFadden who also went off injured in drawn game.

Nothing between them to be fair

Not gonna make it to the game
Will be listening in on radio on the edge of my seat..

    Come on Killyclogher.

Intermediate Club Final this weekend down here

    Kenmare V Templenoe

All Kenmare District clash in the Intermediate Final
The loss to Dr Crokes in the Senior Championship final by the Kenmare District side on Sunday last is hardly going to dampen the enthusiasm of the followers of Templenoe and Kenmare as they see their sides go head to head in the Castleisland Mart Intermediate Championship Final in the second game of the double bill in Fitzgerald Stadium (3:30) just seven days after that galling defeat at the hands of the Killarney side. Neither side have had time to dwell on the happenings at the same venue last weekend.
It’s been a meteoric rise up along the ranks for reigning All Ireland Junior Champions Templenoe who have matched year on year success in the County League by winning county Novice and Junior titles in the past two years and now they are just 60 minutes away from gaining senior status. While maybe not claiming the same headlines as their near neighbours, it has also been a successful era for Kenmare Shamrocks. They won the Junior Championship in 2012 and went on to reach the All Ireland Junior Final where they had to give best to Ballinasloe and they were promoted to Division 1 last year only to lose that status once again in the season just ended.
Kenmare, captained by Stephen O’Brien, had a comprehensive victory over a fancied Desmonds side in the semi finals while Templenoe, captained by Tadhg Morley, were no less impressive when accounting for An Ghaeltacht, albeit by just a two points margin in their semi final. It is rightly set up for what promises to be a cracking game between two local rivals on Sunday next with the ultimate prize of senior county championship status at stake for the winners who will go on to represent Kerry on the following weekend against the Tipperary champions, Golden-Kilfeacle or Fethard at a Tipperary venue.

Kiltale won their third Meath SHC in a row but were made to work all the way. They eventually won 0-17 to 1-13. County man Jack Regan wasn't fit enough to start but came on with a few minutes to go to get what was to be the winning point.
Kiltale go on to play Oylegate-Glenbrien of Wexford in the Leinster IHC quarter final. They've made the final of this competition in the previous two seasons so are hoping to finally go one better in 2016.

Roscommon final was great to watch. Three goals in about 4 minutes!

Thought the red cards were a bit OTT given that game was over and into injury time. Was harmless enough.

Raharney won the Westmeath SHC final. They were losing 1-7 to 0-2 to Clonkill at half time but dominated the 2nd half and won 2-18 to 1-13!

O'Loughlin Gaels beat Ballyhale in the Kilkenny SHC final today, 0-19 to 1-12.

A dull and underwhelming match, which pretty much summed up the entire Kilkenny HC this year which has been awful viewing.

Simonstown Gaels won their first ever Meath SFC today easily beating Donaghmore/Ashbourne 1-14 to 8 points. Don/Ash just never got going on the day.

Mullineaghta (?) from Longford backed up their first county title in over 60 years by beating Stradbally from laois today. Entertaining game with some excellent scores. Sending off of a Stradbally midfielder after half time had a big bearing on the result as it just gave Mullineaghta the breathing space they needed, although they looked the better balanced side throughout.

That, and overly fussy reffing of some of the games. Ballyhale's tactics were crazy today, swamping the half forward line and leaving nobody inside.

    A really poor championship.

I can only recall one Dublin final been shown and that was a few years ago when Larriers played Ballyboden in SHC final. I doubt DCB would stop them showing it. Vinnies are just down road and have big membership and there was fair crowd from Castleknock at Judes games so reckon there will be 8,0000,,maybe more seen as its nice day, but no-one really giving Castleknock a chance. Vinnies 2/9 and - 4 on handicap. Which is a good bet I reckon.

All very quiet here re Crokes and Loughmore even though the game is in Killarney, we could be looking at a Loughmore win. Many hurlers on the Lougmore side are battled hardened after the All Ireland Hurling series.
