Great to see the award coming to the North county, north of Swords that is. Well deserved.

Some Skerries visitors are not as tidy as they should: there are steps leading to the sacristy at St Patrick's Church and at lunchtime today they were littered with the wrappers from rolls, wrappers from confectionery and three or four empty Coke cans - despite the fact that across the road in Church Street there were four litter bins outside Supervalu which sponsors the competition. Shame on whoever was responsible.

And I don't want to get started on dog owners who don't pick up after their animals (well I have)! - those who let their dogs off the lead in the early mornings are the worst, because the traffic is light and they don't see what the dog is up to.
