Has anyone seen a good priced changing unit anywhere? We are looking but they seem to be crazy money for what essentially is a set of drawers with a topper on it...

We did look at the shelves one, but are thinking we would prefer one that we could remove the changing topper when the babys gets older and use as a set of drawers.

    Thank you

Ikea have some for around €150 like this one.

Not sure if they are good quality but they are definitely cheap in comparision to some of the others I have seen.

We just put a changing mat on top of a chest of drawers. Job done, and we still use the chest now. Specific baby purchases are often something you can do without.

We did the same as lazygal, and it works well. we hung a thing from ikea, that has square pockets on it on the wall above the change mat and it holds any creams/nappy bags etc. personally I think specific changing tables are not needed!

Have a look at cot top changers. We got one for number 2 and was useful. I got it in smyths..was €20 if I remember correctly. Downstairs we just used a padded changing mat usually on the kitchen table or floor.

we got one you just put over the top of the cot worked great we used to just put it under the cot when the baby was in bed! Used it right up till she was two and and half and moved into her big girl bed

Another vote for a chest of drawers. We got the Ikea Hennes ones - which was a really comfortable height for us standing up. We then replaced the knobs with etsy ones (With animals on them). We just put a plastic changing mat on top.

We put a couple of shelves over the Hennes and stuck stickers and a mirror on the bottom to amuse her.

Another here that wouldn't bother with a changing table. Chest of drawers works fine. Those nursery sets with wardrobe, changing table etc are so overpriced and poor quality. Also the wardrobes are tiny and impractical.

We got this one from ikea and it's great! Very sturdy!

We got this Stickybean, granted we haven't looked putting it together yet but it looks handy as it turns into a kids desk once the changing table part is finished with http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/products/childrens-ikea-products/baby/changing-tables-nursing/sundvik-changing-table-chest-of-drawers-white-art-90256727/

Ikea 60eur changing table - playing a blinder still, 2.5 years and 2 babies later. Can't go wrong.
