There was a certain inevitability about that try for Leicester.

    Red all day.

You can see Toomua pull his elbow up which is a real sign that he was intent on tipping the player in the air.

Strauss has really dropped off in form over the last 2 seasons.
Sarto could be their new van der Meurwe.

I was just about to post that Leicester defence was good........and Glasgow scamper in for a try!

Great pressure by Glasgow.....well worked try.

there is going to be a few reds in this. the ref needs to act on his warnings

How many times now have Glasgow just gone through the middle of rucks. Soft stuff from Leicester.

Stop interviewing coaches mid-game and let the do their job ffs!

Love a heated game. Every try is on the edge of a bust up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That non awarding of the red has really fired Glasgow up.

    BT. It's the pits.

Great game so far. Would be fantastic for the Pro12 if we can get a win here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Sarto need to be told to carry in 2 hands. There was a man wide who was never going to get the ball there. Great to see Glasgow performing here though. Leicester seem asleep at the moment.

Leicester's defence is so weak around the ruck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

They're in again! Same method. Rinse and repeat. No cop from Leicester.

piss poor defence from the tigers.

I don't like Finn Russell's kicking routine, it's asking for an easy charge-down.

And Glasgow have copped this quickly and exploited it.

Total waste of time, expecting coaches to say anything of interest whilst watching the game

They highlighted the softness around rucks beforehand too, poor coaching from Leicester.

I suppose this is BT's answer to Sky's player mic......equally pointless.

Glasgow deserve their half time lead - they are so much more up for this than Leicester.

Saw a clip of Toomuas tackle. That's a tough call. The laws say red if the player lands on their head or neck. Not sure Hogg would have even if he hadn't put the arm out. Seems to land on his upper back. If that's the case the the yellow is correct AFAIK.

    * Russell, not Hogg.

I think the manner of how Toomua went to drive Russell towards the ground warranted a red.

is there a name for the 'theme' music played in the stadiums before games?

It's by Jean Michel Jarre (you'll probably know his Oxygene track). Not sure what the Rugby anthem is called though.

The thing is, they're just guidelines.

While it's a reasonable guide most of the time, the ref still has the power to decide that it's dangerous/deliberate enough to warrant a red.

Imo, he should have used that power here. A yellow was like "getting off on a technicality".

I'll be shocked if there isn't a citing.

Another lovely pot from Finn Russell.

Wow! What a run by Sarto.......nearly a breakaway try .......so close.

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭Adbrowne

    that deserved a try

Oh man that would have been an amazing try. Glasgow look terrific.

Great scrum.....penalty....another scrum......Glasgow looking for the penalty try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 188 ✭✭golfer555

The Italian winger Sarto is playing great stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Yellow for Mulipola! Only just on. Glasgow have to get a try from this.

Hogg is a smart player. Another good chance here for Glasgow.

Had Hogg put the ball inside Glasgow were in there. They've made a few try scoring opportunities now, doing all the hard and difficult work only to make a basic error in the red zone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Another three points for Glasgow......15 points ahead now, so can take chances.

2 in support without a Leicester player near them. Great attacking mindset.
