    my friend has her her knee and while not too painful cant move it, put leg on ground

    where is the easiest place go for XRay and see doctor, what are the waiting times like in the hospitals these days

    If you rock up to the Emergency Dept without a referral you'll get charged €100 and could be waiting 12 plus hours. Go to your GP first.

    Don't go to UHL whatever you do, otherwise you'll end up waiting for 12hrs

    St. Johns would be quicker waiting times

    AFAIK John's doesn't half an ED any more. You have to be referred.

    Sorry this is prob too late!- but cookie munster is correct, St.Johns is now a local injury unit only, you need a referral from your GP. Your GP can also refer you directly to Xray if they don't feel you need to be seen in the injury unit, which may expedite things.

    Incidentally, Tues/wed/thurs mornings are generally the quieter times in A+E. Avoid after 5pm if it can wait til next day- in which case its not an emergency anyway ;-)
