Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is for the first time that Luhansk are featuring in the group stages of the Europa League. In the first fixture of the competition, they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at the hands of Fenerbahce.

Yuriy Vernydub will be hoping his side can pull off an upset by beating the Premier League giants in their own backyard when Luhansk take on United on Thursday evening.

Jose Mourinho: "I was completely convinced to play with him [Rooney] from the beginning [on Thursday] but with his situation in the last couple of days I am not sure. With the situation you [the media] create for him, he really can't afford to have a performance that is not really good. I am here to protect him and not put him in difficult situations."

Yuriy Vernydub: "There's no need to be evasive. We understand that Manchester United are a world class brand."

Mentioned it on the main thread, these lads could be a tough nut to crack, they are meant to be a side whose sum are greater than its individual parts. Predict a 2-0 win for Utd.Hope Schneiderlin and Timothy FM start.

Pffft, Schevchenko in goal?? Looks like Rooney isn't the only player being accommodated at a club! :P

Slight back injury is being reported. He sat out training on Tuesday I think.. will probably miraculously heal himself by Thursday night so he can play in the league match.

There needs to be some statistical analysis on this.

Or you could just have a thread-off.:)

He tore a muscle in his ego.

He tore a muscle in his ego.

He's been overdoing it due to the criticism. He's got carpal tunnel from all the leaks he's been spreading to the media. :P

Seriously though, he could be pushing himself too hard and his body isn't up to it anymore.

    It's an illness.
Even he got sick of the endless Rooney debate in the main United thread.

Mata is coming deeper than the CM's and does a long ball pinger out to the right full back. Where've we seen that before? :)

I'm surprised with the line up. I expect Jose wants the goals early then make the subs

Ibra completely slowed the play down there though. Ball needed to go wide quicker.

God this is brutal stuff. Our play is just too slow, too many touches.

I thought he is doing well other than from an attacking pov.

We really miss Valencia down the right wing

That's the problem at the moment. In attack he's been poor. To slow to bring the ball forward

Side note: Great ball from Pogba there

Fellaini, Lingard and FM all way too relaxed tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Much better play. Had no attempt on target yet.

    Great movement from mata

Starting to pile the pressure on

    Pogba playing well now too

A very flat game so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

I'm looking for a refund for the last 45mins of my life, who do I speak to?

Pretty poor from Utd, for a team with Pogba, Ibra, Mata et al in it, they should really be taking these apart...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 488 ✭✭Rob Thomas

Very poor 45 mins. Clearly the better team but struggling to inject the urgency and quality you need to take apart a team who, while well organised, are limited enough

Perfect game for Rooney to come on an spare United's blushes and restart the debate of wether he should or shouldn't be starting.

Fat chance of him doing that
and restart the debate of wether he should or shouldn't be starting.

Yes if somehow he can have a decent half against an EL team that will finish bottom of the group, he obviously should be starting in the PL

    Scrap the cap!

A slow match really doesnt need to be slowed down any more

Eh, where was the midfield there?

Commentary on BT is almost as bad as the match, savage cannot stop mentioning rooney or scholes

We haven't come out for the second half yet.
