This is one of the faster 10k courses in Munster as far as I know and tends to get some good runners at it.

Anyone else here doing it? It's on Sunday 9th October at 1pm.

I'm hoping to do this 10k but I might have to work, so it's a register on the day situation if I can.
Did it last year and really enjoyed it, though it was warmer than I expected and i slowed down a good bit coming back the condell road (not that I'm fast or anything).

Yea I signed up for the 10km during the week. What is the exact course route?

    It's on this link - http://www.smrc.ie/urbanrun/routemap.html

My understanding is that it goes around the North Circular Road first, and then back towards the rowing club, and out Condell Road before turning at Clonmacken and heading back in towards town and the club.

Thanks for that, looking forward to it now.

Hoping to do this but probably won't know for definite until Sunday morning due to possible family commitments.

Not really in 10k shape at the minute so might give the 5k a blast.

The course is reasonably fast I would say....did this a couple of years ago and narrowly missed out on a PB. It's a long way back in from the Clonmacken roundabout, so make sure to leave something in the tank

So how did people get on?
I do enjoy this run, it's relatively small in size and quite flat.
I knocked a minute or so off my time from last year and came in around 49:30 so happy with that, but I struggled for the last 3 coming back in the Condell road and had very little left in the tank at the end.

21' 40 for the 5k ,not a personal best but any day I run 7 minute miles is a good day. Great weather and well supported, lovely atmosphereðŸ˜႒

    Well done all!

Got a new PB - 39.45. Excellent conditions today. It's also one of the best organised road races I've done. Looking forward to next year already :)

The weather really was something else. Delighted with my time in the 10km of 47 minutes 44 seconds. By some distance that was a PB. Great event, really good athmosphere. Coming back around by the clubhouse at about 4.5km is a great pick up with the crowds there.

Did the 5k yesterday - really enjoyed it & ran a massive PB.

The organisation is fantastic overall - extremely well marshaled before, during & after.
