    Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place so hopefully I am ok posting here. We have just bought a three bed semi detached in north Kildare. It's about 10 years old. Our structural survey (and ourselves) have noted the excessive creaking from the floors upstairs. The surveyor has looked at other houses around the area in the past and said it's because the joists weren't bridged. There are apparently two potential solutions, properly bridge the joists or screw floor boards into the joists. The latter would improve noise but not eliminate it.

We've now moved in and it's pretty darn noisy. It's not driving us mental but we want to get a rough estimate on what we need to save to have the work done.

Has anyone heard of this? Or remedied it? Any rough ballpark of figures would be great
