Really strange as I could not have been luck 3 times, and then every other boards user lucky too, this year and last year and so on.

I wonder is it somehow connected to the way the delivery address was inlutted?
Did you click the "this is a business address" tab?

Really strange, I'd re-order straight away!

Maybe they've just changed their policy. May have been having problems with the likes of PM.

I'll be surprised if Apple don't start clamping down on this. Irish Revenue is losing the VAT from all these orders. It's a potentially very bad press story in the making.

I expect they'll start forcibly redirecting you to your country's store based on your IP address. A lot of retailers already do this to the extent that it's quite difficult to see how much they charge in the UK.

I did :( Thats there so they wont deliver too early in the morning or late in the evening

    Did you click it?

No, I've never click that box.
Maybe that there is the problem?

It wasn't a problem for me or at least yet (fingers crossed). My 7 Plus is due to arrive at ParcelMotel in Antrim on the 1st-8th Nov

I ticket that box and received my 7 plus no problem, maybe some thing is changed in their system and apple is wondering why so many phones being shipped to same address.

I use Tunnel bear to get around that. Very handy.

Yep. That'll make €13.001 Billion they've lost through tax now.

(They don't give a shıt, in my opinion)

I think that it would be against EU rules and one market policies to stop this.

I don't see how it would be against EU rules to not ship to freight forwarder addresses and/or use IP detection to send Irish consumers to the Irish store. Officially Apple already claim not to do the former and plenty of European based retailers already do the latter.

In fact, technically by knowingly shipping to Irish addresses via PM but paying the VAT to UK Revenue they could be considered in breach of EU Distance Selling rules. The popularity of forwarders like PM is fairly new though so I'm not sure where Apple would stand in that situation. But if it's in any way ambiguous I'd imagine they will move to prevent it out of fear of getting saddled with another tax bill in a few years. The amount would be relatively minuscule as quarryman pointed out, but it would still look bad from a PR perspective.

As above. No customs on eu purchases.

Was going to go into contract again but recent fall in sterling changed my mind. Ordered 32gb 7 in black. Used Revolut and will get it for around €685 incl delivery to parcel motel and insurance. A nice saving versus €779 in Apple Store Ireland

I rang carphone warehouse in Newry. I asked did they have much stock of iPhone 7 128gb. She asked me was I going to use it down south, said yes. She stated it was region locked!!?

I said I'm buying sim free but she again said it was region locked to Uk only even if it said sim free...

Never heard of a sim free phone region locked?

CPW iPhone are known for locking to the network of the first SIM inserted, so I'd well believe they are region locked as well. This has been the subject of a lot of confusion in the past, though. Even the networks don't understand how it works and have given out bad information.

I ordered from apple uk using pm, got an email saying it wouldn't deliver to a forwarding address, looking for a domestic address. Anyone get this?
If you did how did you get around it?

Are you not screwed if something goes wrong and you don't life near Belfast, in that you can only claim the warranty in the country the device was purchased from?

    No.

If you buy from the Irish Apple site you mail in the repair through UPS.
If you buy from the UK Apple site you mail in the repair through UPS.

    No difference.

Out of warranty claims like the EU Consumer Law will have to be handled in Belfast though.

With the £1 taken from the Revolut card to authorise the card, does it stay at processing?
