Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Working in

What's everyone's opinion on working in on sets ? Recently changed gym to a much busier place and at nearly every session since I started whether at 7am or 7pm theirs some dose practically taking off the plates while asking.

I used to let them work in no problem at the start but now it's a straight out no because I'm sick of them trying to make conversation and breathing on top of me basically while I'm trying to stay focused. So what's the best way of keeping people away without me walking around with my hood up ?

Walk away during rests if you can't stay focussed otherwise but there shouldn't be an issue with letting someone work in

Unless they are looking to load and unload the bar they can fire away. Nothing worse than letting a fellow work in and they start unloading /loading the bar

Don't wash yourself and eat loads of garlic. That'll do the trick

I realise now this should probably be in the annoying gym behaviour thread..but yeah I'll double my daily garlic dosage and stop buying toilet paper and soap.

There will always be someone that wants to work in. Just go with it. It's not a massive deal.

Unless you're timing your rest periods. I've had to say no t people wanting to work in before because I've been doing OMEM sets or short, timed rest periods between sets.

That's the exception alright, to be fair

I'm generally ok with it. Once the people working in don't affect my focus while I'm lifting, I don't mind. Have no issue with conversation in between sets either, again once it doesn't affect my concentration or focus while I'm actually lifting, it's all good.

There are exceptions as pointed out where someone working in just doesn't work - if you're timing rest periods or if the 2 people are lifting at different levels in terms of weight and there would be huge amounts of unloading & reloading required every time.
