Yeah something like winning captain or survivors get title match at rumble, while losing team captain gets no.1 in rumble with the others being in top 10 spots automatically. Could do it for both men and women rumble.

Would involve a long term thought process behind it though, which they generally dont have

I miss the times when I thought Survivor Series was actually an important PPV with a bit of meaning behind it.. I still think it's a great premise but god they have made it so bland with these interpromotional contests

Jeff v Elias v Riddle for a spot on the SS team?

Surely Drew is going to take the final place somehow

Massive meh for Survivor Series, bloody brand warfare after what 2/3 weeks after the draft

Titus have a match, that's rare but it was just to get Bobby over

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,107 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Nice owl celtic banter between Drew and Sheamus

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,980 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I'd love to see Sheamus get another world title singles reign

  • Registered Users Posts: 773 ✭✭✭TimesArrow

Survivor Series code names?? Is the way they make Keith Lee speak supposed to convince us he’s an intellectual?

And can they please retire the 24/7 title once and for all. That match was an absolute joke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Tucker is a 2 time champion. It's not a good sign when members of 2 popular teams are now 24/7 competitors.

What was with Charly emphasising the tag title shot with "None other than the New Day". As opposed to the other Raw tag champions?

For Mandy, it looked like she just landed awkwardly. though earlier in the night when they had the backstage bit with Lana, I was a bit worried that she looked cold.

And did Retribution actually get a win?

What is with Tucker's attire? Don't wanna be mean but he's wearing something you'd see on an indie guy in a backyard show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Probably one of the few times where it's not a compliment to say he doesn't look as heavy as he did with Heavy Machinery

  • Registered Users Posts: 773 ✭✭✭TimesArrow

Interesting that Riddle and Seth are now on opposite teams for SS and Rollins seems to have genuine animosity towards Riddle and said in a recent interview he has no desire to work with him ever

Is Lana through the table weekly a face push for her, leading to her winning for Raw at SS and a title reign down the line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I'd say they could do something like have Lana be the reason Nia gets eliminated

That what Meltzer is reporting that Bruce Prichard thinks putting Lana through a table every week will have the WWE Universe feel sorry for her and turn her into a Mega Babyface.

Lana gets the win with a crappy roll up I expect. She'll stay in it because the rest won't tag her in.

Then Jax puts her through the table taking her out of the match then she gets up at the last min when SD think they have won and get a roll up?

Ali just looks dodgy in his new role, like one of the lads you could you prowling nightclubs on a Saturday night

It has potential to lead to a nice Mania moment of Lana putting Jax through a table perhaps.

I can see Lana indirectly or directly costing Jax the SS match, her tag titles and eliminating her from the Rumble, though paying for it by going through a table each time.

Will it work.... god knows, probably not.

Have the WWE currently any top face female over near as much as Becky was?

I like Lana and I know she's trying her best, but jaysus her whole in ring performance is still brutal. While I'd love to see Jax jobbing to her the idea of them sharing a ring scares me tbh. Jax can barely keep her sh1t together against accomplished performers never mind someone who struggles like Lana does.

Lana has all the athletic attributes she is a world class dancer so she is well able to have the muscle memory to lean moves and choreograph a match.

Maybe she needs to go the Macho Man way and work whole matches over and over move for move with her opponent before going live with them.

Then again how many wrestlers do that these days.

    No-one even a fraction close.

"The Man" run was lightning in a bottle. When WWE blatantly push someone to the moon, there is usually a little or a lot of fan pushback but the fans were fully onboard with that push.

She went over in promo segments with Edge and Cena, had a promo with The Rock, won the Rumble, won the main event of Mania, held two titles, held one for a year and got cheered all the way.

And also gave Austin a stunner!

Is Drew getting the title back from Orton tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,236 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Not a prayer. I reckon Roman will interfere after 5/10 minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 773 ✭✭✭TimesArrow

I reckon there’ll be shenanigans from the Fiend and we’ll get fiend v Drew with no build up...

I think the fiend will interfer this will lead to a triple threat match between Orton, Fiend and Drew.

Going by SD it does look like they are going with Reigns vs Drew but this is WWE an **** knows what they will do

Orton vs Reigns has had no build up whatsoever

This week needs the invasions to happen considering it's this weekend.

Really seems like Survivor Series in general has had a terrible build. It's mostly just infighting between all the teams. The rosters have barely interacted or even mentioned each other in some case. Have zero hype for SS this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,373 ✭✭✭Cotts72

Raw seems so bland nowadays, I never watch wwe anymore but still check out results etc but can't remember a time it's ever been this bad..

Retribution could have been interesting but its literally job squad 2.0.

Anyone that shone in NXT more often or not get buried

I don't know is it writing or vinces stubbornness but when was the last WTF moment like punk quitting with the title, stone cold getting, run over, nexus etc

Seems only fair. I wonder how much?

His troublesome behaviour backstage and reputation just always seems to catch up with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

It's a storyline fine, I'm sure, for laying hands on Adam Pearce last week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 773 ✭✭✭TimesArrow

Did he pull his lad out again?

Hardly.. this is some Kayfabe ****e.. needless to say I’m a complete slave to this; they could do absolutely anything and I’ll still watch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It is a kayfabe fine for putting is hands on Adam Pearce.

Imagine he actually did pull his lad out again or sh1t in a female talent handbag again and only got a fine in the same week they sacked a female talent for having a social media account they could not control.

That would be Vince and the WWE to a tee.

Listening to that Taker promo it really shows how much better commentators and colour men were back then to the bland corporate ones today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,980 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Lana through the table again, the new streak and even champ Asuka don't care

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,980 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

    Hurt Business should have won

  • Registered Users Posts: 773 ✭✭✭TimesArrow

Asuka deserves so much better than tagging with the generic blondes.

It’s true.. the women’s division has been dire for years, despite their best efforts to tell us differently.. nothing against mandy and Dana, but basically they’re generic and aren’t interesting in the slightest and average in the ring at best

All the Funhouse puppet stuff is laughably terrible, embarrassing stuff from a supposed creative genius in Wyatt.

Read that's the ninth or tenth week in a row Lana went through a table. What's the point and why should anyone care when
the same stuff is repeated ad nauseam.

Raw really is in a category of it's own when it comes to the worst of the weekly wrestling shows, it's awful.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 25,017 Mod ✭✭✭✭Loughc

I'll be honest I was not expecting THAT title change. Will be a good matchup for Roman at SS. Roman to go over I say and makes more sense not to do heel vs heel if they want to emphaise Roman as this big bad heel.

The proof is in the pudding. Did a hotshot title switch on TV last night and my God the buzz is little to nonexistent for it, it actually took my feed ages to show me who won the thing. Think back to the start of this decade, if they'd done a World Title switch on TV it would be major news, you couldn't escape the news, now people wave their hands at it because who cares.

Also Orton saying he's the best wrestler ever and on the same show losing the title in a switch nobody cares about and because Roman/Drew is now the match they want to do at the ppv is hilarious.

Can't see drew losing clean, could be a miz cash in or some form of interference

On a side note his highlander themed entrance was pretty cool

Or possibly something between Sheamus and Drew....

I'm not buying the Sheamus friendship angle they're going for.

Happy Drew won the title back and the match with Roman could be great

Can see Orton maybe take a few weeks off and as someone else said Sheamus vs Drew could be in the pipeline

The Xmas jumper I got is a Drew McIntyre one with him holding a sword. So I'm guessing there trying to plug that

Right.. so what was the point of Drew losing the title in the first place? Another useless title reign for Orton.. I just don’t get the booking.. and now we have a match between their two biggest stars, which of built right, could have been a mania main event, but instead we’re getting this meaningless match with virtually no build
