Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Benz GLA vs BMW X1

    So guys which one would you prefer and why?

    GLA 200 CDI vs X1 18D SE.

    I noted X1 has better rear seats, better mileage and bigger boots with run flat tyres.

    GLA has more robust handling, thick sporty look, no spare tyre. Overall better looking and muscular.

    What is your opinion?

    Benz looks way better imo. haven't had any experience beyond that. I'd imagine the differences in fuel economy would be marginal. I always thought the X1 was pig ugly.

    If i buy the spare tyre in GLA then there wouldn't be any luggage space left

    Neither? They're both average hatchbacks with a fancy badge not worth the money. 35K on something with the same engine as in the Dacia Duster?

    Good engines to be fair. And it's a bit disingenuous to say it's from a Dacia. It powers lots of other motors too, not exclusively Dusters.

    Audi are launching the new Q2 very soon if you only want a premium brand.

    If you are willing to look at something without a premium badge then you would get a fairly well speced VW Tiguan or Seat Ateca for similar money.

    I would prefer a 1-2 year old that's why i am not waiting for Audi Q2 unless it's under 30 grand for auto transmission.
    VW tiguan is actually more expensive than GLA when you add in leather seats etc.

    Look wise i like the musculine GLA look. Interiors leather seats looks more premium in GLA.
    X1 got better pickup and fuel economy.
    Thats my opinion.
