Toying with the idea of buying land and putting a log cabin like the ones on http://www.logcabinseire.ie/
Does anyone know if I need permission or any license to place a cabin like this on my land?
Also regarding wiring and plumbing, how much would it cost to do?

    Thank you.

    Yes you'll need planning permission.

The costs will depend on how close you are to the services that you require. Will you require poles for electricity, road closure for water and sewage etc?

I would ask the company in question to advise you of anyone that has successfully gotten planning permission. i am not aware of any successful planning applications for these

You need full planning permission for the cabin. You need permanent connection to water and drainage infrastructure. The cabin then needs to comply with our current building regulations including part L, insulation and renewables.

Very possible that it cannot be done, hence why we don't have many log cabins
That have been granted planning permission.

Look here ,Self build house with detailed plans, info.pdfs Designs self build house.
How to build a house with a kitchen, 1 bathroom,
    cost of materials 25k.
you need to find a site ,
This is a real house ,not a 2 room cabin.
Then its up to you to build it ,manage the project .

    http://www.irishvernacular.com/finished-house.html
it would be cheaper than buying a cabin and then trying to build a bathroom and a kitchen.
I,m not a builder ,i ,m assuming it complies with building regs and
    regulations re energy conservation.

I'd say those log cabins are more marketed towards people that want to put a garden room into an existing house. Not really intended as a standalone house on a property. For that reason they probably won't be able to provide much information regards planning permission.

In A most rural area,s its cheaper to buy an old cottage with a bit of land ,
cost 20-30k with connections for esb, water ,
than to buy a site for 30k with planning permission,
Than just modernise the house with new windows ,doors ,insulation .
