So I used to have a friend (not really friends anymore) but long time ago he told me if I need a new car he would find one for me because he likes to go through ads and look at them, however I cannot really use him anymore.

So anyone wants to look for great car for me? I am terrible at cars and don't know what is good or bad. If anyone is bored, you could find a perfect car for me :)

All I want is for the car not to be for sale too far from Tipperary town (like not Donegal or north of Dublin), Diesel is prefered, and my budget is 3000-5500 euro so I think I should be able to get 2008+ car. I failed my NCT on my old car, it would cost too much to repair, so I thought I may as well go and buy new one, but I have absolutely no idea whats good value. Just normal car for single person, something like vw golf or polo.

For example I found diesel 2008 citroen C5 for 3850 which seems very cheap, but I don't know if that would be good value or not.

    Thanks :)

A 2008 C5 for €3850 will be a dead cert pile of junk, way too cheap. Your unlikely to get any reliable low mileage 2008 onwards diesel for €5500, you will need to go to €7k or more.

Do you really need a diesel? If your only doing tiny miles stick to a petrol.

A post 08 diesel in this price bracket will be a big gamble.

Have a look at a 08 Renault Laguna III, solid car but you will still be paying 5k+ for a decent one.
