Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Newlands Cross junction & light sequence

    Hi,

Was heading from the belgard direction taking the filter lane to the N7 south and stopped at the lights. While waiting for them to change green couldn't help but wonder with all the light sequences to allow lanes from all the various directions cross the junction, there must be somewhere in that sequence to allow my lane to filter out on say a flashing amber in a safe fashion.

Or am I over simplifying the complexity of the traffic flows?

    W.

You're making a common mistake in thinking that whoever designs & manages traffic flow in Ireland actually drives a car or uses the roads in any way. These things are created by Windows TrafficBot 3.0, the latest & greatest in non-interactive computer traffic modelling.

Update 3.1 is coming soon, features rumoured to include placing traffic light pedestrian crossings 25 feet from every urban roundabout. :pac:

Consider yourself lucky you can see the lights there. If you were at the front heading to Clondalkin, it's very easy to be tricked by the lights further on, as the lights you'd need to be looking at are obscured.

Yea I've seen loads of people make this mistake and drive straight through a red light
