Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Washing Machine leaking and pump acting up!

I have a problem with my washing machine..it leaked all over my floor and this only happened after I turned the pump off. The reason I turned the pump off was because it kept coming on and off and I was worried it would burn out! Would this be leaking NRV'S? Any help on this matter would be great.

    Thank you

    Stephen.

The reason the pump came on and off is probably that there was a very small leak before. It could be a problem with the non-return valve, but unless your water is running off a roof or coming from a tank in the middle of a building site (i.e., there is likely to be dirt or debris in the water) it probably isn't.

So the leaking washing machine could have caused the pump problem rather than vice versa. The leak on the washing machine just got worse as time went on and eventually became noticeable.

It is unlikely the pump would have burned out but the noise certainly is very annoying.

The first step I would take is to isolate the washing machine (there should be a valve where it is connected to the plumbing) and find and fix any leaks in the supply pipe. When that is done, hopefully, the pump will be sorted out so it doesn't run like that anymore.

Then you need to fix or change your washing machine.
