Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2008 MkV Golf 1.9 TDi rear brake disc size

I'm looking into doing a DIY job on my rear brakes. I'm looking up the size of the discs needed and there seems to be a few different varieties. I would assume the bigger size would be for the GTI, but there are a few smaller sizes in similar dimensions (255x10, 256x12). Would anybody be able to give me a definite answer on the size I need? I can't find any definite answers through google.

    Thanks.

You'll need to measure the disc that's currently on there.

Save your money and invest in the 312mm front set up from a GTI. You will see no noticable improvement in braking performance from upgrading the rears.

That's just my two cents and I've upgraded the brakes on a few of my past cars.

I'd say they're just looking for a direct replacement

Your car will have the 255mm discs.
