Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bought the Ninja about 1.5-2 years ago, use it every morning with no problems. It's 900W so it can handle nuts, ice cubes etc no problems. I think when I was looking the similarly priced Nutri was only 600W, so that's why I went Ninja. Got it in Argos on sale for around €85. Actually just checked there, and they're on sale for €77 (from €128) in Argos now as well...

If you want to remain on friendly terms with your neighbours then go for the nutribullet. The ninja, though good, sounds more like you're building a small extension than making a smoothie.

True, I have even wrapped mine in a towel to drown it out!

the blades on the ninja are said to do ice better. WHile the bullet has ample power I think the ice is not sucked in well and ends up just spinning. I think it will still manage it but I know my ninja obliterates ice in a split second.

Nutribullet can handle some ice, but I believe the instructions say to only put a small amount in, and it sounds like it's going to explode in your face.

My base is usually almond milk, an avocado, chia seeds and some blueberries, and then I add oatmeal, frozen chunks of banana or pineapple, or beetroot and some peanut/almond butter occasionally. Work out what nutrition you want from it and then try different combinations of ingredients for a while and you'll get a couple of mixes that you like. I find it handy to keep a tray of chopped fruit in the freezer, pineapple, banana, some berries etc. Handy to throw in a few chunks on the morning rather than chopping up a pineapple while half asleep!

I second the use of almond milk. Nice subtle flavour and low on calories. Just make sure you get the unsweetened version!

Berries are great for smoothies. Great flavour, low sugar and low calories.

If you want to keep the calories down, don't add a banana.

If you want some good fats, try adding some flaxseed or chia seeds. Be careful how much you add though.

It might be worth checking out Nutri-Bullet's app for recipes:

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to freeze banana

There are no real negatives to freezing bananas!

Blended frozen bananas have a creamy type of texture and consistency that almost make you think you are eating ice-cream :)

    You're absolutely right.
I Definatley remember only recently reading in a baby food making book that you can't freeze them. But after googling it and it most Definatley says you can.

Has anyone tried this blender? It's 1200w which is more powerful than most.I'm In two minds whether to get this or the ones in Aldi/Lidl. The Tower is only a tenner more.
