Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The dog is getting very upset by my reactions to this match. So hard to watch us unless were behind or have nothing to loose

If we don't win here we might as well pack it in for this qualification.

    Get Walters off

Dumphy was right about the centre back partnership.

He got a lot of things right in the pre match talk.

Randolph has the ball, no interest from anyone to go short for it. Wouldnt see it anywhere else

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

Walters nearly scores the most undeserved goal in the history of football

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,605 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

it must be 70 -30 possession to Georgia in this half

    Long has been piss poor.

I know Walters hasn't had the best of luck with injuries but he looks a shadow of the player he was last year .

Oh for the days when Robbie Keane would have grabbed one by now and everyone would be saying "he only scores against the Georgias"...

    Unbelievable noise from Georgian fans!

Seems like a very good atmosphere

Why doesn't McCarthy make the right pass?

This is going to be a grind of a campaign. No squeaking in through third place either in these qualifiers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Randolph very slow coming out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,028 ✭✭✭✭SEPT 23 1989

We are giving them so much time and space nobody closing them down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,120 ✭✭✭justshane

I can't believe that Daryl Horgan, Stephen O'Donnell and Patrick McEleney and possibly even Dane Massey can't play at this level and improve the team.

This is the worst I've seen the team play individually and as a whole in a long, long time.

That thunderclap ****e is getting on my tits

Weve been doing it for yonks, just a few newcomer clowns keep shouting huhhhhrrr now after the summer

Ireland, much like being in a warzone, have the uncanny ability to inflict both existential boredom and white-knuckle angst. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Not just that Ken there, but the laws for fouls on goalkeepers are quietly one of the biggest farces in the entire rulebook.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,522 ✭✭✭tigger123

Something needs to change at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Brutal first-half. We should be 2 down.
    Hate MON's brand of football.

I feel nothing watching this game. Nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Current stats according to BBC:
    Possession:

    Ireland 43% Georgia 57%

    Shots:

    Ireland 3 Georgia 7

    On Target:

    Ireland 0 Georgia 1

    Corners:

    Ireland 2 Georgia 3

One of the most depressing performances I've seen from Ireland that I can remember.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

That was one of the worst first halfs ive seen

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

I can't believe that the players we have can't get the ball down and pass it around. Too many times we have lost it and we are allowing the Georgians space and time to do what they want. This could very well be an upset.

Why bother watering the side Ireland will hoof the ball to next half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,064 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

Only 3 days until we have to endure another 90 mins of this crap. Outplayed by Georgia at home is a new low.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Must be the worst 45 minutes from Ireland in a long time. Especially at home. Nothing good to be said about it apart from we somehow didn't manage to concede through sheer luck.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 199 ✭✭Debil

At least it didn't end in an embarrassing Iceland clap.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

Have we not being playing pretty much like this (not as poorly but style-wise) under MON all along?

What? Do you think we could actually win this?

We were equally rubbish before we went behind against Serbia

Abject hard to stomach stuff. Why are we paying Georgia such respect at home?

Abysmal stuff. The mentality is utterly broken.

I remember the glory days of the late 80's - a rammed Lansdowne Road on a Wednesday afternoon, the crowd bristling with excitement and we'd only be playing Malta or somebody.

When the halftime whistle went just now, there was utter silence. This team have really lost the crowd. There's no anger, just apathy and sadness amongst support. Where's the fire in this team? We're happy to allow a terrible team boss us at home. It's really bad.

Nice to see proper honesty from RTE..

    It can only improve.. right?..

We are analysing this match for our uefa b licence.

    **** me...

Thankfully we only half to do one half but I'll have to watch this first half again.

It doesnt neesmd to be said, but we are absolute ****.

Should have put Dundalk out against these, at least we would be playing ball to feet .

    So again..

Has the MON experiment failed now?...

Refuses to use any of our league team in Europe.. plays league 1 players!

we had a decent euros.. but Christ has it been anyway decent before/after..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Wales got a second goal just before half-time in Austria so they lead 2-1.

No Irish players taking the initiative at all. Every pass sideways is just skirting responsibility. Surely someone can run into space when they have the ball.
