Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I worry about our manager ever wanting to get the second goal, in any game.

I hate this defending 1 nils.

Nice to see the Georgian captain react quick to open Bradys airway as an Irish player rolled him into the recovery position

Is that safe though, with a possible neck injury?

I thought they shouldn't move him until the doctors say it's ok.

Do the players get briefed on how to deal with this kind of thing?

Really don't think that was a great header.

TBF we deserved to win this by a few. Played pretty well in the second half despite what the moaners will say.

Nothing unlucky there, that was a great chance.

Should have scored, it's not unlucky he keeps missing!

Ronnie: 'McClean does so well to get the header on target.'

Hitting the crossbar isn't on target.

I agree the second half improved but the moans go towards MON and how he approached the game from the offset

Ye lads really do hate McClean don't you. Quite sad really.

Ronnie forgot to press his mute button when speaking to a producer (presumably) regarding the MOTM!

Turning to 35 year old O'Shea to hang on against bleepin' Georgia. Absolute footballing poverty.

Clearly? What because I don't have the same opinion as you?

    Arrogance much?

Bringing on Whelan and O'Shea in this situation says plenty about the manager's mindset.

Shock,Ronnie gives Coleman the MOTM :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 198 ✭✭LordAwesome

To give anyone MOTM from this match is a disgrace to the entire concept.

No hate just a horribly average player who doesn't do anything to deserve his place in the team

Ah rubbish, if he was from Wexford or somewhere he wouldn't get a fraction of the criticism he gets.

Dont know how he is considered premier league standard but then again to play in the prem one doesnt need to be the best technically.

Don't see it, we could've been down by a couple in the first 45.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Not going to get away with that kond of performance against Austria.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

The win does nothing to paper over the cracks. We were dire for the most part and O'Neill belongs in Jurassic Park.

Pfffff, well I'm happy of the win, but it wasn't really a convincing performance overall. If Ireland want to have any ambition to be truly competitive in this group, they're going to need to find some of the form they displayed at the Euros.

Still, another night's worry, I suppose.

    Ah will ya stop.

He has had numerous good openings and he makes the wrong decisions. He works very hard, but that's about it.

He gives his all but just says the quality we have. Also MON plays pullis ball so suits style. Don't think geography matters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Ugly performance, particularly in the first half, but we have 3 of the 6 points we need from these two games.

Finished 2-2 between Austria and Wales which is good for us.

Perhaps because he plays regularly in that league, no?

  • Registered Users Posts: 661 ✭✭✭derm0j073

We were septic in the first half , any half decent team would have killed us . Better in the second just about did enough to earn the 3 points .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

1-0 Great result but terrible to watch. I wish we could play football like Georgia

Couldn't care less we're he's from as long as he was good enough to play but he's just not.
