Is it me or is anyone getting sad watching Kevin Bacon popping up in adverts now?

I'm just reminded of how he got screwed over by that Bernie guy-and lost his nest egg. Now he's doing phone adverts.

I don't blame them (Keitel is another one), easy money really.
In a way its worse for actors that used to be more prominent and now play roles in advert, not themselves, actual roles. There's a few like this, yer man from Wanderlust in the Vodafone ads being an example.

Wanderlust was Brendan Courtney-I think you mean 'How Low can you Go?'.

Yeah, Keitel is grand-there's no 'look how normal I am' like Elba or Bacon.

I know it's been mentioned already but did nobody ask that Electric Ireland guy to do a re-take with his 'switching to Electric Ireland is SMORSH, never switching again is SMORSHER'. JEEEEEEEEEEAYSUS

Someone uploaded a Wanderlust episode to youtube...

It's save to a list, so I may punish my enemies. (It's really bad, worse than I remember).

The funeral cover one that starts with 'it's June Dad'.
Those old folks must be on some good medical cannabis because they have stupid grins on their faces throughout and laugh at everything.
Also some ad for bacon or something with a father and two sons talking about the perfect breakfast. The father is almost pissing himself with laughter everytime the sons open their mouths, but they aren't saying anything remotely funny  He must be on medical herb as well.

Funeral ads on TV there is so many of them
Ads for loans on UK channels
    Ads for compo

Don’t they have credit unions in the UK to get a cheap loan?

Your giving away a lot with that statement ;)

Like the times you watch TV and the channels.

Ever noticed how some adds are aimed at demographics who are obviously supposed to be watching at particular times.

Probably driven out of business by having to pay PPI compensation.

That poxy ad for Halifax mortgages with Top Cat is back. Even as a kid when I loved all cartoons, I thought Top cat was a cnut. Who made a connection between him and a new home?

And the flintstones, great if you want to buy a pile of rubble.

The airwaves ad with the guy stuck in traffic but when he chews airwaves his car is magically transformed into a souped up rally car! Magic! Vroom-vroom! Oh wait, no, you're still stuck in traffic.

I’d love to make him listen to that sentence on repeat for a week  see how he likes it

Saw one of these adverts last night, for Boost energy... Boost Lee...Fer gawds sake.

    https://lbbonline.com/news/snap-ldn-creates-bruce-lee-inspired-spokesman-campaign-for-boost/

There's a few adverts-but basically some advertiser once again uses Bruce Lee's grave as a toilet to empty themselves.

It's freaking awful. There's another referencing his 'be like water' quote...and I want to slap the advertising company behind this.
(The app for the company has a really low rating).

two of the most annoying sounds on earth ar people going 'mmmmmmm' while they are eating, and 'aaaaaaah' after they take a drink. So why have those pack of bums at coca-cola decided to take these noises and turn them into a song for their new ad

Yes. I am glad I am not the only one to see the fault with that advert.

Vodafone strikes again, more guff coming to your screens soon, in the same vein as Getting to know you advert, precious family moments that only occur if you are a Vodafone customer. Bleeeurrghhh. One of the new ones is a kid playing violin for his ma and da so obviously Vodafone are intentionally trying to annoy us in the hope that that equals successful advertising. You know what to do folks.

Couldn't find a vid of it but did find this UK ad, same crap as they peddle here.

The "Schwarzenegger" head is back in a new UK Pee Pee Eye ad. Well it sounds like he is Pee Peeing himself.

That new Mace ad feels like it belongs in the 90s. Everyone's head turns into an emoji and "Make me Smile" comes on.

Who gets that excited about getting a coffee and deli at Mace?

The Guinness Christmas ad. The guy that says "Don't forget to turn the lights off" was my first boss.

Extremely dodgy and sneaky guy. Perfect for a TV advert I suppose..

He seems a right smarmy cnut in that ad actually.

Nintendo have some really badly dubbed ads for the switch, and it's not like they are a struggling little company with a tiny advertising budget.

There's 'male' version of Diet coke-or is it Coke Zero? Who cares.

Remember when Diet Coke had cool adverts?

I had a go at them on page 131. I don't know how they get away with that. They have had ads pulled before and this one should be too.

Is thread limited to TV ads? There’s a Tipp FM financial ad on atm that is just awful!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,141 ✭✭✭✭flazio

There's a radio advert thread over in the radio forum.

Whatever about the LSD induced smiling heads, but whoever thought that absolute travesty of a song was the perfect match for it needs to be taken out and shot.
