Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,
I was wondering do local vets normally charge a referral fee for referring on a complicated case to a specialist?
I assume there would be a good bit of work involved in getting an appointment set up and all the files sent over etc?

Is there X-rays involved? The crowd my vet uses for second opinions/referrals charge them - my vet wasn't sure of something one time for an X-ray Bailey had and it was €20-30 to have it double checked. Any other time it's been the initial exam in our vets and say we went back for that again like the dog was still lame or needed an infection checked we either get charged €15 or nothing.. then if we were referred our vet doesn't charge.

I'm wondering - say you have something specialist like eye surgery as an example. Your local vet makes diagnosis and recommends a specialist. You get charged for the consult fee from the local vet, whatever the surgery cost and then maybe some after care costs at the local vet. Have you ever seen a local vet charge a referral fee to the specialist (for organizing the referral appointment and preparing all the notes etc)?
