A smashing round again from Seamus, I’ve been reading/listening to his interviews over the last few weeks and the way he’s playing the last three days isn’t a surprise to him he’s been saying his game is very close to where he wants it to be. 1 dropped shot in 54 holes is fairly evident his game is exactly where he wants it to be. His confidence must be sky high going into tomorrow. He’s drained a number of huge putts not only for birdies but for important pars also. He got up and down from an apparently very difficult spot off the green on I think it was the second which was huge early on.

He’ll need to shoot the lights out tomorrow, probably another 65 and that still mightn’t be enough. Whatever happens tomorrow, he’s got to be delighted so far. I think there’s $100k down as far as 19th place tomorrow and with 15 or 20 players breathing down his neck just a shot or two back from him, he’ll need to be aggressive tomorrow. A top 5 or top 10 would be huge for him but god a win would just be unbelievable.

Round 4 is teeing off early due to a poor weather forecast, Seamus is out in the third last 3 ball, with Doc Redman and Scott Stallings at 2:39 Irish time.

Thats correct regarding a win gets him into Kiawah Island next week. A win will be huge for Seamus and more importantly gives him job security for the next 2 years with that 2 yr exemption. Keep it lit Seamus!

This is actually great viewing or following shot tracker in my case. Living every moment with the lad.

Follow him since he hammered us in a junior foursomes final when we were 15 or something. He was already seen as a huge talent then. His hands were ruined from practicing already

That’s a pity, only his second hole to drop a shot in 4 rounds.

2 pars at the 2 par 5s just gone might feel like shots dropped. Fingers crossed he picks up a shot or two on the way in and secured a solid top 5

The wheels are coming off now. Too often this happens Seamus, he has a bad hole and unfortunately tends to follow up with more bad ones. Took him 4 to get down from 50 yards there on a 305 yard par 4. He’s bleeding money now, he still has time to get those 3 shots back but he’s got to steady himself quickly.

Serious pressure on him to be fair and he's shown throughout his career that his mind is the weakest part of his game. So not unexpected. Hopefully he can right the ship here and still get a top 5. Deserves at least that.

Nobody deserves anything. You could say that for a lot of the players but that’s makes the difference between journeymen and next level up. Nothing next week probably doesn’t help as a lot of pros are streaky and they need to strike while the iron is hot

Maybe it's the feed of takeout pints in me but everyone deserves a little understanding at least. I reckon Seamus would settle for journeyman status currently, he's lower than that at the minute. Some rain out there now, not the weather you want trying to recover from 3 quick dropped shots.

The conditions are very poor, but they are trying to finish the tournament because the rain is not going away. Bit of a disappointing end for Seamus, but he had a good week overall

He has an 11 foot birdie on 18 when they get back out there. Hole that and top ten guaranteed! Just nine players left on the course! Spieth is 80 yards from hole on -18 after 2 and a birdie for him could knock Seamus out of top ten. Nobody else can influence the top ten right now. Unless, of course, Schwartzel or Burns drop shots.

It'd be fairly devastating to finish outside the top 10 considering the position he was in after 12 holes. Hope he knocks it in on 18

Top 10 finish is grand, but he faded a bit, so there are 2 ways of looking at it, it is a good result but heading to the back 9, he was 2nd, with only the eventual winner ahead of him. T2 after 63 holes and T9 at the end, with a +3 back 9. Still good stuff overall

It was 6’7” and even the best putters are only 70% at that distance so they will be missed. Hitting the putt 7 foot past on the 14th was a bad mistake but he was chasing then after the double.

I didn’t see his drive on 13 but he must have got a horror lie in the bunker. Could only chop it out a few yards.

Overall, it was a very solid performance and it was a shame that the double on 13 was compounded with that silly bogey on 14.

However he hit 83% of greens in regulation yesterday and was over 70% for the week.

His strokes gained putting were positive for the week so there are plenty of signs of progression.

With the elbow injury behind him, he could make a run through the Fed Ex rankings and secure his card!

I also believe that Top 10 for a non-status golfer automatically gets you in to the next regular tour event, so this will see him in the Charles Schwab next week if he wasn’t in already.

He’s also chasing the metric of 15 starts across 5 different seasons on the PGA tour, which provides you with a PGA pension and other legacy benefits.

I think he has 4 already in the bag, so every start is vital this year if he is to make it.
