Kilkenny Chess Congress 40th

    This year sees the 40th. staging of this the now longest running event in Ireland.

    At this time nine Grandmasters are entered and it is hoped all the top Irish players will also attend and help to make this anniversary event a special one.

    Amongst the Grandmaster attendees are:
    Michael Adams
    Alex Baburin
    Matthieu Cornette
    Bogdan Lalic
    Fabien Libiszewski
    Mark Hebden
    Gawain Jones
    Tony Kosten
    Sebastien Maze

    If you don't get to play a Grandmaster in the Masters section, you are guaranteed to play one during the "Main Event", that is of course the Blitz held Sunday evening.

    Hoping to see you all then.

    Yeah. Great tournament alright. Really good buzz. Nearly 220 players with a fair bit of star quality in the mix. Well done to the organisers Maurice and Jack. They should be very proud of hosting such an excellent tournament for 40 years running.
