Is it safe to write off Carolina at this stage?

Watched the Falcons last weekend as we were on the bye, they looked pretty good alright!

Is Redzone on SS Mix this weekend?

Nice one, have had the pleasure of avoiding Reynolds so far this season.

Only 8 teams in NFL history have made the playoffs after a 1-4 start.

Incredible turnaround from an almost perfect season....has to be at least partly down to letting Josh Norman walk away.

He's a large part of the reason the Redskins are 3-2. To be fair though they would be 2-3 had they got Cam on Monday and definitely should have won week 1 too. I think the division they are in they can turn it around and finish 9-7 but might not be enough to get to the playoffs.

Well it's the only game on at 1.30am on Monday morning.

I think I'll watch Dallas vs Green Bay instead of getting up early on Monday to watch SNF back.

I'd put it more down to schedule. They had one of the softest schedules in the league last season and were very lucky to avoid big injuries. This year, they lost 3 of their games to 2 of the best defences in the league and the best offence in the league. The other loss was minus their franchise QB with a career backup starting. It's just not falling their way this year the way it did last season.

Great game, Packers are super stingey against the run and Eliot is getting around 9yds per carry for the Cowboys. Be interesting to see who comes out on top!

I fancy the Cowboys to take it.

A shameful 6-8 last week, but I blame the teams, my picks were solid gold. Onto this weeks reminder of why I should never gamble.

Denver @ San Diego...San Diego due, but think Denver bounce back
Baltimore @ NYG....Baltimore starting to regress a little.
Carolina @ New Orleans...full scale meltdown for the panthers this year.
Cincinnati @ New England...a slightly tougher test for the Pats this week...slightly.
Cleveland @ Tennessee...think the Titans will give the AFC south a shot this year.
Jacksonville @ Chicago...have looked better with Hoyer.
Los Angeles @ Detroit....Shock win against Eagles, will continue good form.
Philadelphia @ Washington...Huge game for the Skins if they want to stay in touch, philly D looks good though.
Pittsburgh @ Miami...Titans put up 30 on the Phins, what are the Steelers going to do?
San Francisco @ Buffalo...Kaps back, a tough day awaits against the better-looking Bills.
Kansas City @ Oakland....KC have not lived up to billing so far this year, Oakland have and will.
Atlanta @ Seattle...Game of the week. Seattle to have a little more offense than Denver were able to provide last week.
Dallas @ Green Bay...Two prospective playoff teams, Prescott to falter in Lambeau
    Indianapolis @ Houston....Colts to stage a mini-resurgence.
NYJ @ Arizona....Arizona may have stumbled upon a winning formula, but Jets should be tougher to run against.

Looking forward to the game tonight. Good matchup for a Thursday night. Chargers won't be easy opponents, they've been in every game this year and very unlucky to be 1-4.
Denver coming off first loss, and well beaten at home by Atlanta last week, need to bounce back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Great pass proection for Rivers on this first drive, haven't gotten him off his spot once.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Lovely first drive by the Chargers finished with a really good TD catch.

Rivers able to stand in the pocket on each drop back, suprising

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Yeah, the Falcons pretty much had their way last week, and the Chargers took it 75 yards (including making up 15 penalty yards) with ease. RBs and TEs doing the damage again. Blueprint?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Falcons exploited the Denver defense on short crossing routes, Chargers did the exact same. Shame Danny Woodhead is injured, this gameplan would suit his skills perfectly

wow, quick first quarter and all San Diego.

Over 12 minutes possession for SD. Rivers in rhythm and moving the ball well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Broncos finally get pressure on Rivers and force a FG, first time they've disrupted him

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

DEnver need a long drive here (time wise or # of plays) more than they need a score!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Defense looks completely flat last weeknd and this, pass rush seems to have completely dissappeared, whilst Denver's own pass protection has looked extremely shaky the last 2 weeks. Really need the ground game to step up, but already two scores down. What a terrible start to a game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

That type of stupidity is why Chargers lose every week

ooo, if this is reviewed, it could be big. I think Denver would only get the ball where the punt was muffed though? Can't advance it oe did refs blow the play dead. Didn';t hear a whistle. Seriously, how did the refs miss that? Hits him twice, on the arm and on the leg.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭TOss Sweep

That ball hit the returners leg this will be overturned. Idiot either fair catch it or get the fook out of there.

Ball is live if it hits the returner considered a muff under the muff rule. haha muff

Love being a chargers fan. Get to witness the silliest things every week.

Need to turn this into 7. ....4 yard loss on first down...nice.
1 challenge lost too for an obvious call.

3 really good plays by the defence to hold them to a FG

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

1 yard drive in 3 plays leads to FG. We're back in it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Chargers get the ball back, and DEnver may not see it for the rest of the half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭TOss Sweep

Didn't realize Kubiak has been off all week sick with Migraines.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,256 ✭✭✭Molly

Cody Latimer with a possible concussion

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Very fortunate to only be down 1 score after a half like that, but bigger picture, Denver do not look good at all, on either side of the ball. Chargers do not look like a 1-4 team here tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,026 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

FG puts them up 13-3, now we get to see if they can manage to hang on to a two score lead.

The have played so well this year but let it go in all but one game. Bosa has made a huge different to the D already. I said he was the best player in the draft and he is showing that already.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Time to try out Paxton Lynch? has a bigger arm, more athlethic in the face of the rush, and maybe Siemian isn't fully healthy. Less than 70 yards total offense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Bosa has been very impressive over 2 games, teams will start scheming away from him if he keeps it up

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

I've seen fumbles where the reciever is trying to make extra yards, but never one where he is giving up the paltry yards he's already gained.
