It is news worthy, you spend 700 Euro on a device, you kinda expect it not to blow up in your face when you use it.

It might be worth €700 if it could blow up people that you rang with it:D

...it's been carried on a few news reports today.

Is it just about the least interesting news ever? Gee whizz, one of the many models of smart phones on the market isn't great. What will we do to get over this? Maybe buy one of the other ones?

What next, the clutch on the Audi isn't great? Hold the front page.

You are right. Only stuff that interests you, Conor74 should ever get reported. Conor74 for director of news.

You know how you spot an iPhone user?

They tell you they own one.

There's a bit of a difference between a phone not being great and it bursting into flames.

I have no interest in phones but I have a cheap one from Argos in case of emergencies. It has very few features. It doesn't even have internet connection. I'm okay with that because all I want it for is to make phone calls. I don't need a phone to be great. However I draw the line at it bursting into flames. I'm picky like that.

If the iphone burst into flames Apple would market it as a face warmer and slap another €50 on the price

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Had to be a sealed unit to be waterproof also which is a fairly sought after feature on new phones these days.

My samsung galaxy S5 is water proof with removable battery. I don't think your point holds water.

They are banned on US flights and it is a criminal offence to bring a Samsung note 7 on a plane.

Are these phones going to need to be returned to Samsung factory. Should be fun if they cannot air freight them.
