Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My wife! I get to drop her and pick her up after.

How often do you buy light bulbs?

Not too often, we use energy saving ones in the house and fluorecents in the sheds, they last a long time, there would always be a few spares in the house, but I can't remember changing a bulb in quite a while.

Are LED lights the way to go now, I put up a new shaving light in the bathroom recently and its an LED panel, not a bulb?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,089 ✭✭✭Lavinia

Very rarely actually they seem to last forever

Finally home and in bed, slept 2 hours in the last 48 so ya...

Apparently LED lights are the future. Certainly it's worth getting LED Christmas lights as they don't blow like the regular lights.

I do, I have about 6 different ones. Doubt anyone would guess them as I hardly remember them myself.

Are sites that require a password with at least one capital letter complete arseholes?

Some sets of older ones have fuse bulbs in them, maybe every 5th bulb or so, if the fuse one is gone then the next few won't work, till you hit the next fuse bulb.

What are you putting them up so soon for anyway?

Because they look nice....mine are up since last weekend.

Do you have the traditional turkey/ham Xmas dinner or something alternative?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 240 ✭✭Tristrams Shandied

Alternative. I make a really good mixed mushroom and nut wellington.

I've been looking everywhere for one of those plastic suction hooks to hang a Christmas wreath. No luck. Any creative ways to hang a wreath on a door without driving a nail into it and destroying it?

Christmas day starts pretty much the same every year, foddering early, in for brekkie open the presses, meet a few friends around 11 and go for a cycle unless its wet. No drink early, some wine with the turkey maybe a couple of beers later, check the animals again, re-fodder if necessary, maybe a nice whiskey or two before bed .

    Exciting stuff eh?
