    They,ll offer you x amount say,150k.
Thats it, no waiting for bids ,or dealing with an agent.
You save 1 per agents commission plus vat.
you,ll know when you,ll get paid ,when you will have to leave.
Once the council buy ,it they,ll give it to someone on the housing list.
say you have a house in santry ,an agent will advertise, deal with bidders,
IF theres 2 0r 3 bidders bidding against each other you might end up getting
    more than150k.
because someone likes the area , or has friends in that area .
theres no bids on a council sale, they offer you what its worth,
And they,ll only buy a house thats in good structural condition.

Theres no need to put a sign up outside the house ,or put the house on daft.ie ,
ie a council sale is more private .

someone can put in a bid, its accepted, then they drop out ,
And then you have lost a month waiting for the deal to go forward .

They may offer a good but less because of the hassle free sale.

Interested in this. Do you approach council and offer for sale or wait to see if they approach you?
