    Hi all,
My father, a farmer in his late 50s with very little tech know-how has been smoking for the last 40 years, smoking a pipe for the last 10-15. I really believe that he'd like to give ecigs a try but doesn't know where to start. To give him a start I'd like to buy him something for Christmas. I'm a non-smoker so looking for some advice on what to buy. Most important would be that he could buy refills relatively easily from the nearest village/town. Or are refills universal? All help would be greatly appreciated.

I think something like the AIO is idea for someone wanting to give it a go, but maybe not sure on it. It's also a decent priced device and simple to use, You can fill the tank with any e-liquid, from any vape shop.

It'll come with full instructions and spare coils. Maybe that and a pack of spare coils and some juice to start with?

Yes, the AIO is probably the best starter.

If he smokes a pipe, maybe Liqua's French Pipe juice might be a good juice to try. It's not to my taste, but I did vape their Cuban Cigar one and it was good - that might be a decent one to start on too.
12mg/ml strength would probably be okay in an AIO, and he might start on that, but if it's too strong, or not strong enough, that can be adjusted up or down.

I have a pipe like that and its not great, there isnt much draw or throat hit off of it so it doesnt seem like you're smoking/vaping at all.

OP If you can i would say get into a shop local to you and ask the guys in there. Where are you based? There are quite a few shops around the country so the chances of something being close to you are quite good.

jebus i had a long post written and hit "post" and was asked to log in,arggh!!

    anyway,not writing again.

CE5 style clearomizer with 2/3 ego style batteries, simple, available in most local stores, and perfect for non tech savvy late 50yr old farmers who dont need the fuss. can stick it in the shirt pocket and take a pull when needed.

http://www.bargainvapour.com/HS_Flue_Cured_Tobacco_100ml/p1274299_8354604.aspx with maybe a fruity/minty flavour he might like that he can add a few drops to make it easier to like. 18mg nicotene

What's the main difference between these? I notice a fair price difference (€4 vs €24) but I'm probably not comparing like for like.

I don't live close to home (Wexford) so had planned to buy something online.

the CE5 is just a tank (and a pretty small and out dated one at that) ego batteries are around €10 each as well. a CE5 starter kit would be one like this http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/electronic-cigarettes-starter-kits/442-p1-electronic-cigarette-single-blister-kit.html

you could get one as a trial, but your father would probably soon outgrow it.

The AIO is a far more modern and user friendly device it is available from The Best Shop for €23.50 and discount code IRISHAPE will get you 10% off so for only a few extra € is a much better buy.

I agree with Fred....the AIO is the way to go & don't forget the eliquid,I would suggest getting your Father 24mg or strong nicotine strength for the eliquid...

Get it from the same vendor....http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/liqua-eliquid/12-10ml-liqua-eliquid.html

    Cheers lads - much appreciated.

How long roughly would you get from a coil? Would a replacement pack of 5 last a while?

about a week I'd say. But that depends to an extent on what juice. Some might last four days, others two weeks.

It comes with 0.6 Ohm coil but I would recommend either 1.0 or 1.5. My local shop charges €5 each but I can get a pack of five online for $6-$8. Last anything from 1 - 3 weeks but I wouldn't be a heavy vaper.
