Hi we have moved into a house in Bishopstown Cork Land Line (eircom) We are only getting speeds of around 2.5Mbps. The line I believe has been tested and no fault found to the house. The previous owner had telephones all over the house that are now redundant. We just want one line from the exterior box to a point inside the house where we will have a dect phone (main unit) and fibre broadband Wi-Fi box.

My question is who is responsible for running one line from the box on the exterior wall and point inside the house.

You should already have an NTU, AKA a master socket. The vast majority of premises do. Thats where Eirs responsibility ends and yours starts. If you want to decommission the extension sockets(phones) then you just need to remove the backfeed from there. Its a simple task that anyone handy with DIY can do or you can get a sparky.
