Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Always nice to see a ref card a player who's always in his ear.

No wonder Sky PL viewing figures are down 20%. Here I was thinking I'd have a nice hot blooded game to break up a dreary Monday night.

That's was dross, 45 minutes of pure Mourinho football. Hopefully things pick up in the second half.

Ref basically took the captains aside and said next foul gets it.

Pure scutter so far, good tactical performance from Man Utd but it's been like watching paint dry.

So many players have contributed absolutely nothing.

Yes, but I assume Pool and United fans are not enjoying it either. Terrible game.

    Awful game
    Awful atmosphere

Klopp needs to change things up as i've no idea what crap he was trying to get them to play for that 45 mins.

A half fit Lallana is surely a better option that a lazy Sturridge.

    What a stupid post.

Sturridge has not put a foot wrong and is being marked out of the game. Not receiving good service either as Utd are keeping it very tight with their back seven.

Liverpool almost look too up for it. Struggling to string simple passes together. United shaded the opening 20 minutes or so but Liverpool were slightly better towards the second part of the half. Both teams have been poor though.

    Brilliant by the referee.

That was barely a foul. Herrera is some man for that sort of shít.

    Young had no business there.

Bailly was obviously booked because a lot of Utd's fouling was ridiculously cynical. I think Bailly was unlucky that he was the guy, but it was basically a team booking.

Liverpool marginally the better team despite what the commentators are telling you. Utd are solid, but that's not difficult with a back 6 with 2 DMs. They've shown zero ambition. But they haven't had to for most of the half as Liverpool were so useless in possession.

José's game plan is going as he'd like it to. Utd all set to nick it with a goal from a corner.

Really poor quality. Liverpool lacking confidence and composure to play. Man Utd not trying, and probably unable, to play.

Those wondering why Man Utd have 2 bookings, it's called tactical fouling and it's one of the main features of every Mourinho team in a big game. A stronger ref would have booked a Man Utd player far earlier than afyer 41 minutes.

There were more highlights in the FIFA 17 ad than the entire first half.

The ref is clearly biased against Utd, must be a City fan.

    Liverpool have been absolutely dire

Speaking as a neutral that half of football has made me reverse my neutral position. I now hate Liverpool and Manchester United.

I thought his comment at the end there about Liverpool having a lot of work to do also humorous. You'd swear they were going in at a deficit.

So you're angry with someone for criticising a player, so your solution is to criticise three more who haven't been as bad as him?

He's not causing it. He's simply daring Liverpool to pick a hole in the defence and they can't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Utd have been pressing hard, but I'm surpised at some of Liverpool's passing. Often playing direct to a team mate's feed causing them to check and re-position instead of playing the ball into space in front of them to run on to.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

It's a good thing the PL is "the most competitive league in the world" (lol) because the standard of football is utter crap.

Liverpool attacked more as half wore on.

Utd have not been very creative though.
