Qualifications for Learning Support

I am qualified teacher with h dip in ed . Do you need qualifications to teach learning support in secondary schools. What qualifications do you need to be a learning support teacher. Someone told me you cannot teach learning support in secondary schools without proper qualifications. There`s a job on education posts with my teaching subject and learning support. Do you have to have learning support qualifications to teach it. Any advice welcome.

You don't need qualifications to teach learning support. It's advised you do some further training... but 'needs of the school' and all that.
Go for the job if you want. You may need to demonstrate some knowledge of differentiating the curriculum, or working with students with ADHD/Autism/Dyslexia and understanding the educational (and holistic!) nature of their needs.
