I am looking for information on sourcing replacement lithium ion batteries. Moli IBR-18650B is the only information on the battery and Google doesn't bring up any direct listing's for eBay. Can they be cross referenced to another battery? Battery pack suffered water damage.

If you want you can recover tabbed 18650s from any old laptop battery.

FWIW cheapo Ultrafire etc batteries tend to be rated at 3000Mah but actually be down at 350-500Mah while legit LG/Panasonic/Sony cells will be very close to their rating.

Do Li-Ion batteries always need to be specific to the camera or can a generic Li-Ion battery work for any digital camera?

If its a standard size single cell, it should be OK. Non-branded ones are of variable quality & capacity.

Cameras tend to have a specific housing for their battery packs. You could use 3rd party equivalents if they exist.

Thanks guys. This makes me still prefer AA batteries.

If you are using AA batteries you'd prob be better off with NiMH batteries. Lidl were doing chargers and batteries recently so you might get some there.
