Hello

Think of upgrading an older TV to 55" no-bezel Samsung 55KS7000 / 8000 ( OR SONY/ Panasonic equivalent)
Also need a compact, quality 2 channel amp to drive a pair of Arcam Muso speakers (bought from RS years ago!) used for music & TV sound.

Also a compact SUB to work with above TV & Amp.

Plan to buy in the next few weeks: what would you recommend.

Thanks
Ger

mmmmm... that sounds like a nice system

I'll attack the amp first and if you are interested in a really good amp ex-display and you are looking for 'compact' then I may have a zinger for you - we have one Rega Brio-R in stock which is currently £499 - I can do that for you at just £389 which would be a fantastic deal and it will work especially well with your Arcam Muso - you can check it out here:
http://www.whathifi.com/rega/brio-r/review

On the TV front the 55KS7000 is currently £1299 / €1599 and the 55KS8000 are currently £1549 / €1949 you can check them out here:

http://www.richersounds.ie/p-201945-ue55ks8000.aspx

On the sub front you are a bit spoiled for choice as there are now lots of compact subs ( and unlike years ago, most of them actually produce decent bass!)
Our first option would be Monitor Audio Radius 380 sub - its a compact sub but packs a 200watt class D amp - it only measures approx 310mm cubed and it comes in a selection of really top quality finishes including Piano lacquer black / white and wooden finishes, its currently £499 / €549:
http://www.richersounds.ie/p-12553-radius-380.aspx

Next up would be the tiny / tiny Rel T-Zero sub - again available in Piano black - this is super compact measuring just 241mm high * 261mm wide * 206mm deep. - again its pretty powerful with a 100watt amp built in and its currently £299 / €349.99.

Now for the combo pricing :)

If you wanted the:

Samsung UE55KS7000 - TV
Rega Brio-R - Amp ( Demo)
Rel T-Zero - Sub

Our normal retail is £2097 - I can do you a bundle price of £1897 including delivery.

If you wanted to go mad and get the best options:

Samsung UE55KS8000 - TV
Rega Brio-R - Amp ( Demo)
Monitor Audio Radius 380 - Sub

Our normal retail is £2547- I can do you a bundle price of £2299 including delivery.

Thanks again - have a browse of the options and of course if there are any other products that you especially fancy drop me a line or of course if you would like to order just drop me a PM or mail to johnmc@sales@richersounds.ie with your contact details and we will arrange a delivery for you - we have all those items in stock and ready to go straight away.

had a quick look at the links. I should have said that I need at least one, preferably 2 x Optical inputs on the amp. Currently use using a Marantz PM-66KI Signature (20 years old) but it's 20 years old and no digital input, but still sounds great. I don't think the newest Samsung TV's have any analog output.
