Was wondering is it too late in the year to plant tulip and daffodil bulbs?

    Don't think so.

I've stuck bulbs into the ground and pots at all sorts of odd times of the year and they've done the business the following spring - I'd say you'd be fine with them.

One thing is absolutely certain, they are not going to flower sitting in the shed or on the table. As long as they have not gone soft, stick them in the ground, they may not flower next year or, if they do, they may not be so big but the following year they'll be fine.
